More Than One Direction

When Emily gets the job of her dreams, a back up dancer for One Direction, she is less than thrilled to discover her dancing partner is Louis, not the guy she's desperately in love with, Niall. But things take a turn when Niall seems smitten with her as well, and what will happen when Liam seems to like her too? Will Louis's or Liam's feelings get in the way of a seemingly perfect couple? Or will Emily discover that perhaps what she's been looking for has been dancing by her side all along?

6. I Wish

For the next week, I hang out with the boys nearly every day, and we get extremely close.
When I wake up the morning of the interview/rehearsal, my first thought is that the past week was all a dream. But when Lil Payne jumps onto my bed, the memories all come rushing back as reality. I check my phone and see four messages.

Liam: tonight at 10? Let me know ;)
Niall: can't wait to see you today :)
Louis: I'm really sorry, I can't lose you. Please call me in the morning.
Martina: call me slut, we need to talk.

I decide to ignore Martina again. I cannot deal with her along with everything else. I also ignore Louis; I'm not ready to forgive him.
Then I remember what today's plan is- dance rehearsal.
I drag myself out of bed and take a shower. Once I dress into dance clothes, I pick out a cute outfit for the  interview and pack it in my dance bag just in case the interview is immediately following. I also pack my dry shampoo, since my hair will probably be gross from dancing, my curling wand in case I want to do my hair, and my make up. Even if the interview isn't immediately following, I really want to hang out with Niall until then, so I can just bring my stuff with me.
I head downstairs once I do my usual morning routine before dance and I'm getting ready to hail a taxi when I hear a voice behind me.
"Already got you one darling," that familiar voice whispers in my ear.
"Thank you, but I don't want to talk to you," I tell him as I get in the cab.
"Please Emily, I'm really sorry."
"I'm going with him."
"But don't you think that's unfair to him?"
"No, I'm pretty sure he knows I'm not committed to anything. He just wants a chance, and why shouldn't I give him one?"
"Okay, okay, I get it. Just please be careful."
I agree, and the rest of the cab ride is pretty much like our normal times together. I realize what Louis texted me is right, I can't lose him.
We arrive at the dance studio stage together, much to Ryan's delight.
"Great, great! See my wonderful dancing couples- this is real chemistry!"
I look down shyly, avoiding looks from anyone. When I look up, both Niall and Liam are staring at me. I look down again and listen to Ryan's instructions.
He tells us that the dance routines will be learned in song order. The opening sequence of the tour is 'What Makes You Beautiful', so he decides to create a scene with 4 snobby stuck up girls and one girl that all the boys dance with and sing to.
He takes the boys quietly away as we stretch. When they return, Ryan says, "All right ladies, the boys decided, not me. They want Emily to be our Beautiful Girl."
I am so flattered I don't know what to say, so I just look at each boy and give them a smile.
Niall's returned smile gives me butterflies, Liam's wink makes me smile more, and Louis's kissy face is responded to with me blowing a kiss at him.
One look at the girls tells me everything I need to know- jealousy. They are unhappy with the relationship I have with at least three of the boys, and they're especially jealous that I got this part. But I decide not to let it bother me; all I can do is dance my hardest.
The routine is not very hard. It starts with the four girls on one side of the stage and me on the other. The boys first start to approach the four girls, but as each one notices me, as my character is supposed to be beautiful but insecure, they take turns dancing with me. Harry's solo is very passionate and seductive, and I can't help but to despise whoever decided that solo didn't belong to Niall. Whenever each boy sings, they dance with me, which means I start the song off with Liam.
The girls don't have a very large role, but the director informs us that the other dance routines, one for each rehearsal, will include us greatly.
As we run through, the director pays the most attention to the beginning, and comments on the dancing parts with Liam and me.
"Hm, perhaps I missed the chemistry there," he comments after the run through.
The part where I dance with Niall is my favorite, as he spins and dips me. When he brings me back up, our faces come very close, almost like mine and Harry's, and for a moment, I can imagine that Niall is really singing about me.
"Much better than before," is all the director says about my part with Niall, referring to or chemistry.
Overall, the routine looks pretty good. Ryan tells us that the interview is in 2 hours, so to eat something and meet him at the studio.
The boys walk away together and the girls go a separate way with disappointed looks on their faces. I start to head in their direction until I feel someone grab my hand from behind me.
"Where do you think you're going?" a clearly Irish accent says.
"I don't know," I answer coyly.
"Our house!" all the boys yell in unison.
Once I get to their house, I get dressed in my interview outfit, a flowered skirt with a tight top and matching wedges, put on my makeup, and curl my hair.
When I find the kitchen, I see someone in the fridge. I only need one guess.
"Nialler?" is the only guess I need.
"Hey Em," I hear through a mouthful of food, then noticing my outfit, "you look pretty." He gives me a big smile, which of course makes me smile.
"So what do we do until the interview?" I ask.
"Let's make a video!" Harry tells from behind me.
I laugh at his excitement.
"You know what I've always wanted to do with my friends?" I ask when an idea pops into my head.
"What?" Zayn asks.
"Hey I just met you and this is crazy," I sing, "but here's my number so call me maybe!"
The boys start to jump up and down while nodding their heads, and they closely resemble bobble heads.
Once Liam sets up the webcam, we all sit around so we're in view, with me in the middle.
When Liam hits play, we dance like crazy for the entire song. It is so much fun, and by the time we're done we realize we're really hungry.
As we sit down to eat, I hear Zayn say, "Guys, Emily needs a nickname."
All the boys agree enthusiastically, so I start to laugh.
"And what would that be?"
"Emmy!" Niall shouts, to which I give him a huge smile.
"Swimsuit!" Louis shouts, to which the boys decide is a brilliant idea, though I blush a lot thinking of.
"Puppy lover!" Liam shouts next, but the boys don't like because they think it's only in reference to him.
Harry laughs, "We should call her More Than, because she's got three of us wrapped around her finger! So she's More Than and we're One Direction! More Than One Direction!"
The boys applaud for this name, but I decide to tackle Harry from his chair.
"Are you calling me a slut?" I yell at him.
"No no, of course not. It's just so obvious you can't make up your mind."
With that, I start to punch him repeatedly.
"Shut up Harold Styles!"
"Stop, stop! No, don't call me that, stop!" he shouts at me as I continue to punch him.
Once I get off of him, the boys all stare at me.
"You really are More Than though, More Than," Zayn says as the first to try out my new nickname.
"No she's not," Louis says, "She's my girlfriend."
"Not really," Liam says, "She's going on a real date with me."
Although this is not new news to Louis, he still looks upset by this, most likely because of the fear of Liam and me being caught.
Harry and Zayn don't seem to see this as new news either, so I'm guessing Liam already told them, which would explain my nickname.
But when I look at Niall, I see the most hurt and surprised expression.
And I wish immediately I wasn't the one to put it on his precious face.
