Together As One

Lily and Louis have been best friends since childhood. After Louis auditions for the X-Factor and joins a group, Lily goes to meet them. Lily then falls in love with one of the group members, but does he love her back or does another member love her? (There is already a sequel up. It's called Look After You.)

3. Film and a Pizza

Oliver: I put the key in the egnition and turned. The car roared to life. I turned to Lil. “Thanks. Youre a lifesaver,” I said greatfully. “I owe you one.” “ yes you do!” she said back smiling. The rest of the car ride to Louis’ was silent. We just lisened to the music and enjoyed the fresh morning air. It was nice.

Louis: as I fed all the girls cereal and toast, I wondered where Lily and Oliver were. They were supposed to be there 20 minutes ago! i was hoping they would help me control these 5 little rascals because they actually listened to them. “Lottie stop playing with your food, youre making a mess,” I said to the oldest one. “Zendaya, which cereal did u want again?” I yelled into the lliving room where the cartoons were turned up so loud I couldn’t hear myself think. “and Georgia, turn down the telly,” I ordered, badly hoping she would so I wouldn’t have to leave the eating kids un attended to do it myself. Just then, the doorbell rang. Thank god! I thought to myself. 3 girls yelled “ill get it!” at the same time and fought their way to the door.

Lily: I was greeted at the door by 5 adorable little girls. “Lily!” they exclaimed when they saw me. “hello girls!” I said, giving each of them a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Ollie followed in behind me, doing the same. “wheres your brother?” a asked Lottie. “in the kithen,” she replied in a chirpy tone. “finishing making our food.” I thought about this for a moment. Louis? Cooking? It couldn’t be! He must have been making cereal or something. I walked the familiar path through the house into the kitchen. When I peeked around the wall to look into the kitchen, I found I was right. There he was, 3 boxes of cereal and two cartons of milk sat on the counter in front of him. He looked up, saw me, and smiled. He walked toward me, arms open. I walked into his arms feeling his strong arms wrap around me and I smelled his familiar scent. “hello love.” He said before giving me a peck on the cheek. “hey Tommo.” I said to him. “its about time you arrived! Its already half twelve!” he said in a teasing tone. “its not my fault;” I defended, pointing to Oliver. “Ollie over here didn’t have anything to wear.” “ready to go then?” he asked, eyebrows raised. “I want to say ‘hi’ to your mum first!” I said. Just then I heard footsteps decending down the stairs. “morning Lily. Morning ollie!” she said, her arms open to receive our embraces. “morning mum Jay!” I replied, in the same tone. Ever since I was young, louis’ mum had been like a second mother to me. Her name was Johanna Tomlinson, but everybody called her Jay. Since she was basically my mother, I called her mum Jay. “what film are you guys going to see?” she asked. Oliver replied to her with, “I heard ‘The Karate Kid’ was supposed to be brilliant.” I thought about it. We hadn’t really discussed it before, but that seemed like an okay movie. I had actually wanted to see it when I found out Will Smith’s son would be in it. I also wanted to see if he was as good an actor as his father. Louis looked at us and we both nodded. “that sounds good,” Oliver said shrugging. “okay better go,” he said giving his mum a kiss and then giving each of his 5 little sisters a kiss. He grabbed his phone off the counter where he had left it making breakfast, and we walked out of the house.

After the cinema, we decided on getting a pizza from our favorite place around the corner. While waiting for the people to make it, I struck up a conversation with Lou. “so,” I started. “excited about leaving next week?” “yeah, but also im a bit nervous” he said. “have you decided what song you are going to sing yet?” “ I was thinking ‘Hey There Delilah’ by ‘Plain White T’s.’” he said in a questioning tone. “oh I love that song!” said Oliver, as the pizza was brought to our table. Louis was auditioning for the X-Factor next week in Manchester. He was always a great singer, but only started getting into it when he was 14 and I was 12. We always sang together, but he was better than me and we both knew it. The thing was, I wasn’t even a bad singer, in fact, I was quite good, but Lou was better. No contest.
