4. Scrummaging Through the Remains

We make our way up to the house, and I notice no damage to the outside of the house. Gia remains holding my hand. In the living room, nothing remains, as well as in the kitchen, and dining room. I walk up the stairs, and there is no damage, each room still perfectly in tact.

We walk back down stairs, and enspect the damage again. There are some weaks in the floor, but it is fixable. My father looks disappointed. We walk around for a while, but then decide to go to a hotel to stay, and possibly live in for a while.

We go to a nice hotel, and they give us a discount because of our situation. We take Gia home, then return, and try to go to sleep. I go to sleep quickly, but I wake up often. Eventually, I give up on sleeping, and wander around the hotel.

I go back to the room around seven, and I wait for my parents to wake up. Gia texts me at nine, and asks me to come over. My parents agree, and drive me to her house.

We enjoy the day, and do everything involving One Direction. This gets my mind off of the fire for a while, but when I return to the hotel, the fire is all I can think about. "Ky, we need to talk to you." my dad says. My heart drops, and I think of all of the awful things that could have happened.

I sit down on the bed, and my parents sit beside me. I prepare myself for bad news. "We  know you really want to go to your One Direction concert, and we want you to go too, but we had someone come to check out the house, and we dont have enough money to pay for it. We need your help. We need your One Direction money, Kylie." my mom tells me.

Of all of the things that could happen, this is the worst thing possible. I can feel my eyes fill with tear at the though of never getting my chance at at meeting the most amazing boys on earth. My mom puts her arm around me, I understand why I need to give them the money. I nod, with a tear streaked face.

My mom embraces me, and whispers "Thank you." in my ear. I give a small smile, and hug my dad.
