Summer Nights With One Direction

Amy is prepared for a fun filled summer in London with her Mom. Just hours before their flight, Amy's Mom suddenly cancels due to a work emergency, and her best friend, Tessa, offers to come along instead. They plan for lots of exciting adventures during their trip to London that will make this summer the best one yet. But they definitely aren't expecting to spend their amazing summer nights with the boys from One Direction. Throughout the summer, both girls fall in love and experience some incredible things that they never planned. What will happen when they have to return to their noisy hometown in New York, and leave those delightful summer nights (and their new best friends) behind?

29. Nothing Left To Say

When we landed I was tired and furious. I couldn't even blink let alone sleep during the plane ride and I barely ate. I only spoke to Tessa and Eleanor when necessary. I was secretly grateful that they didn't talk to me much, but they understood that I wasn't feeling so hot so they just left me alone chatted among themselves. My mom picked us all up at the airport. She was so excited about meeting Elle so she barely payed any attention to me. She gave me a quick kiss and that was all. But honestly, I was perfectly fine with it.

I missed the New York air. The smell, the breeze, the sound of loud cars and the whistle of the trains. I hugged myself and pressed my face against the car window as everyone went on and on about useless crap about England. Stupid England. I snarled and let out a soft fake cough. I reached into my bag to turn on my phone and sighed when the picture of Harry and I popped up as my screen saver. He was smiling and I was laughing with my mouth wide open. I had received 9 missed calls from him, and one from Louis. I ignored them and stuck my phone in my pocket.

When we walked into the house my mom had the pull out couch opened for Eleanor. She had used my favorite blanket to the make it with the matching pillow cases. For some reason my body felt like it was on fire so I shouted. "Why would you use my blanket? That's my blanket!" I yanked it off and threw the pillows across the room with a loud grunt. A picture that I'd never noticed before had fallen off the wall and shattered on the floor. I ran upstairs and cried in my closet where it was peaceful and dark. Mom hollered after me but I didn't listen. It was all muffled to me. My door didn't have a lock, so I prayed that they wouldn't follow me.

I sniffled and choked on more tears then my phone vibrated. Liam's huge grin was plastered on my screen. I figured he was calling to see if we got back okay so I answered. "Hel-" I cleared my scratchy throat and repeated it. "Hello?"

"Amy don't hang up. Please." Harry begged. "Are you there?" He sickens me.

"You have two minutes to say what you have to say. You batter have a damn good explanation, Styles."

"Amy, first of all, I love you. I need you to know that."

"Then why would you leave me without saying goodbye! How dare you-"

"Let me finish!" he screamed.

"Don't yell at me!" I barked back.

"I love you."

"You said that already." He was obviously waiting for me to say it back, but I just couldn't.

"I know. Amy I couldn't say goodbye. And I know I'm a jerk, I shouldn't have left this morning. I'm sorry. It was the biggest mistake I've ever made."

"Saying sorry doesn't help. At all. You are not forgiven. I can't believe you did that."

"Amy I-"

"There's nothing left to say, Harry! I'm done, we're done."

"I just-"

"No, just stop. Please." I could hear his heavy breathing through the phone. It was almost as if I could feel it against my ear. I sighed and heard him sniffle. "Don't cry."

"I miss you."

"Maybe you shouldv'e stuck around to say goodbye to the one you love. Or at least you claim." I hung up and sobbed some more.

I sat there for a long time, until I could barely breathe. I stepped out and took a shower, then i put fresh clothes on and brushed my hair. I laid on my bed and stared at the ceiling, as I imagined Harry's hand in mine. I blinked hard and a funny noise escaped from my mouth. I gripped the quilt against my bed until my knuckles started hurting.

I miss him.
