Not So Easy

Abbigale Steward is a problem child to say in the least. After her father died when she was three, her mother got caught up in drugs, and her own semi frekewent run-ins with the cops, she was beginning to believe the whole world was against her. Things got so bad she even considered drugs, and worse; suicide. She felt she had nothing left to live for. Until......she met Xavier, her budding romance, and Isaiah, a mysterious boy in her grade 9 history class.

4. History Class

Sitting in class I really realized how much of a problem I had. There was Xavier, pure, kind, and an all around good guy. He never kept me guessing. And then there was Isaiah, dark, mysterious, and an all around creepy guy. He ALWAYS kept me guessing. Which to my despair faintly intrigued me.

Crushing on the school's bad boy was not a good start to my relationship with Xavier. Gosh I needed to figure this out. A drink sounded nice right about now. No! I need to focus! Finally I decided to make a list. It was a pros and cons chart for both Xavier and Isaiah. I didn't have more than one point down before I was interrupted by the teacher.

"Ok class, pick you partners!" Mr. Stilts announced.

Oh crap! If there's one thing I'm not good at it's multitasking. I look up at the board and find our assignment. An entire presentation on the Revolutionary War! And it was worth 90% of our grade! Suddenly the sound of the class died down and I found myself sitting partner-less at my desk.

"All right class, anyone who doesn't have a partner please stand so I can pair you up." Mr. Stilts said dully.

Slowly I stood and scanned the rest of the class. Out of the corner of my eye I see a flicker of movement, Isaiah stood from his desk at the very back of the room. I could see a faint smile creep onto his face. He had so planned this!

"Alright you two. As it seems you the only two with out partners..." he raised his eyebrow making half the class giggle, "you'll be working on the project together. I don't see why you two couldn't have just partnered up together in the first place." he said exasperated, "Now everyone, as partners, you will be sitting with one another in class. And another thing, you will be given only two classes to work on your project; the rest will be done on your own time. You can put it into any form you like but it must be on my desk 2 weeks from today. Chop! Chop!"

Great, just great. Now I'll be spending even more time with the guy I'm trying to forget. How could this day get any worse? Well, it did.

"So you want to come to my house after school so we can work on this project?" Isaiah asked coming up behind me.

"I thought you were too cool for school. Since when do you care about handing in reports on time?" I asked rudely.

"Well, ever since you were my partner." He replied smoothly.

I had to admit that was cute and I melted. Oh ya, and did I mention he had a British accent? Yeah, he was hot, but for some reason he radiated with dangerous energy.

"Well, that's very sweet of you, but just remember we're History partners we're not dating." I said in a condescending tone.

"Not yet any way." he murmured putting his arm around my shoulders, and he led the way out of the room.
