My names True Callern. I'm 16 years old. I live in a village called Arenathon. It's an old village, and i've lived here all my life, not that i've had any choice in that. But in the town centre, thats where the palace is. The prince lives here you see, and things are about to get..lets say different.

Sunlight. The first thing my eyes saw when I woke up in the early morning. I stayed in my old, creaky bed for a moment to take in my surrondings. Sunlight streaming through the moth-eaten curtains, my mother and younger brother Kye still asleep in their worn down bed, that they share. Kye's only 5. My eyes scan the rest of the room to nothing more else, other than a dusty, chipped wardrobe and a little set of draws next to my bed. I swung my legs round and stood up, my feet hit by the icy coldness of the wooden floor. I hunted through my draws to find a pair of brown trousers, a plain white t-shirt and a woolly cardigan which I threw on quickly. I pulled on my brown leather boots and my old coat, which was just a second-hand brown quilted one. I walked out of the bedroom into the kitchen which had a small counter, with about 5 cupboards holding what little food and utensils we owned. There was a small table in the corner with 4 chairs scattered round it, and an old, rickety oven which barely worked, but we used the hob on top of it. Then, if you walked through the kitchen, there was a tiny room with just a broken, rough sofa and a pile of plastic and metal which is a disgrace to call a television, but it does work..sometimes. I picked up a few coins from the table in the kitchen, and headed out the door. I walked slowly, my feet kicking up dust from the brown, dry road. I passed many houses basically identical to ours. Small, old, made out of wood. Almost worthless. I knew almost everyone in Arenathon seeing as it was so tiny, our population only a meer 200 or so. I carried on walking until I got to the trading market, where you can trade your own items for others, or just buy. When I went inside, a few locals greeted me since I go here a lot, a majority of people know me. I bought half a loaf of bread, a dozen eggs, and a small rabbit which I could use to make stew later. When I got home, my mother was awake but Kye was still asleep. 'True!' She gave me a smile as I walked through the door. 'Anything new, out and about?' She asked me. 'No' I replied. 'Still the same old, unbreakable cycle' I sighed.
