Minor Complications (Part 1)

Instead of going to parties, 17 year old Emma would prefer to stay home and watch television, even though her best friend Tiffany begs her to leave the house once in a while. One night at a party, Tiffany meets the members of One Direction, and falls head over heels for Liam. Unfortunately, so does Emma. They become close friends with Zayn, Harrry, and Louis, who try to stay out of the drama. And then there is Niall, who constantly fights for Emma's attention. Complicated. This is part of my Complications trilogy.

This is a story for the One Direction contest. :)
It used to be called Little Complications, but when I decided to make it a trilogy I had to change the name.

3. Can't Get Her Out Of My Mind

*Niall's Point Of View*

I wake up in the morning and instantly check my phone. No messages. Of course, why would she text me? She's more likely to text Liam by the way she was looking at him last night. I keep thinking about her. She was just so funny and pretty. I sigh.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I notice Liam sitting on the other bed next to me, eating pancakes.

"Nothing." I sigh again as I sit up.

"Is it that girl from last night?"

I look at him, shocked. "How did you know?"

"I saw the way you were looking at her all night." he says, smugly.

"I'm surprised you noticed anything other than that bleached blonde girl." I say, a little harshly.

"Hey, what did I do to you? And she wasn't that bad. She was nice." He says, and then continues to stuff more pancakes in his mouth.

"Sorry. Ugh, I'm just a bit grumpy, that's all."

Liam's phone buzzes. He checks it and smiles.

"Who is it?" I ask, fearing it might be Emma.

"It's that 'bleached blonde girl' saying good morning." he says using air quotes.

I roll my eyes, "Of course it is."

"Don't worry, Emma will text you soon."

"More likely she will text you." I say under my breath.

"Why do you say that?" he asks, raising an eyebrow.

"No reason." I say quickly.

"Why don't we make plans to hangout with them again? Or you can ask Emma if you could take her to dinner?"

"I can't do that!" Liam looks at me questioningly and I sigh, "You really didn't notice how she was staring at you all night? She'll reject me."

"No she wasn't and no she won't!" I raise my eyebrows at him. "How about we all go out again. And this time, you try talking to her more, instead of staring at her from across the table?"

I nod my head. "I'll try." I pause. "Thanks Liam."

"No problem. And Niall, you don't have to wait for her to text you. You can pick up your phone and send the word 'hey'."

I smile and nod. I think I will.
