Books I recommend

Basically, a load of books I think are great. I'll add a new one about every week, see what you think of it. I'll try to do less well-known books. I have now tried to add extracts, I in no way own copyrights to these books.

Name: Forbidden

Author: Tabitha Sazuma

Plot: The story follows Lochan, 18 yr old genius who struggles to talk to people outside his family, and Maya, popular happy girl. They are siblings in a family with a mum who spends every night out drinking with her new boyfriend, teenage brother who refuses to accept their authority and 2 younger siblings to look after. They have to look after this family while keeping under the radar of social services. As Lochan and Maya are forced to become surrogate parents to their younger siblings they start to realise how much they need each other. They end up falling in love, but how can it survive when they are brother and sister?

My opinion: This is a deeply thought provoking book and I will guarantee it will change the way you view life entirely. it is extremely well written from both characters points of view, you completely get what they feel and why. It has one of the saddest endings I have ever read, I guarantee lots of people will cry at it.

Who should read it: I would recommend this for teenagers+ as it does contain a sex scene at the end. Girls most probably, as it is a romance, but if any guys like that sort of thing then read it! I'm not normally a big fan of romance books, but this one has stuck with me, so try it out even if you don't like that sort of thing.

Extra: This has been one of the most life-changing books I have ever read. I now agree wholeheartedly that brothers and sisters can get married and have kids if they want. If you like deep, emotional books then read this.
