Remembering Katy Perry

Sixteen year old Maddie has lived a hard life. She also keeps a big secret. When she finds out the boy she met two years ago at a concert is Harry Styles, her life turns to chaos. She has to chose between her brutal, unforgiving past or the new, shining future with her love. It's an easy choice! At least it is until her past comes to haunt her future..

1. One Direction

I couldn't believe it. I had gotten front row tickets to the sold out One Direction concert! I looked over at my best friend, as we drove through the bright, crowded, city, and let out a "I can't believe this is happening" sort of noise.

She looked at me and smiled back. "how did you score these tickets again?" she asked. "I don't know, to be honest. My step-dad came home two nights ago and threw the tickets on my lap and said 'you and Katherine are going to see that band you like, One Direction right? Anyway. Don't ask questions. We leave Saturday at 7. Make sure she's not late.' then walked out."

Kath shook her head in disbelief, her dark brown curls slightly bouncing. "I still can't believe it" she mumbled, looking out the window.

We spent the rest of the hour and half car ride singing along to the radio. "...ooohh ooohh, sometimes I get a good fee-KATHERINE! I SEE THE ARENA!" I scream, as I grab her and point viciously toward the arena. "Look look look! That's where I'll finally get to see the boys in person! Oh my god, what if they touch me? I will completely die!" I babble non-stop until we pull in the parking lot. We hop out of my dads junker car and stare in awe at the arena. It's the biggest thing I've ever seen. Even from a distance it towers over me. I see the arch shaped entrances and excitedly pull Kath along next to me.

We toward the arena side by side with my step-dad, Ryan, following behind us. I couldnt  help but feel inadequate walking next to her. I look over and check out what she's wearing. She has on fitted capri's that are rolled half way up her shin and a gray shirt thats tight toward the bottom, but loose at the top and hangs off one shoulder. Underneath that is bright red tank top that really pops out against the light colored, jean capri's and simple gray shirt. Her shoes are decorated flats with silver and red sequins all over. To top it off, her near perfect curls match her chocolate eyes, which are done up with a touch of mascara and eyeliner.

I look down at my simple out fit. Dark jean shorts, a black v-neck t-shirt decorated with lace around the neckline, a bright teal tank top, and my gray converse sneakers. I had put a swipe of mascara on and touch of lip gloss before we left, nothing to fancy. I hadn't done to much to my bright blonde hair either. Just blew it dry so it would stay straight.

I felt my spirits sink a little walking next to my gorgeous friend. Her small petite stature, next to my 5'8, big boned, body structure. She looks like a fairy, and me, a troll.

I put the thought out of my head as we approach the entrance. The arena is even bigger than I originally thought. It's at least four hundred feet tall and it seems to stretch around for forever.  Katherine got in the massive line first with me following shortly behind her. As we wait in line, she looks over at me with a sly grin. "So..." she says. I look down and feel my cheeks go a bit red because I know where this conversation is going. "Sooo.." I mumbled back, not looking up. "Remember the, uh, last time we went to a concert together, Maddie?" she asks, a smile playing in her voice. I blush deeper, silently thanking God it was dark and no one could see me, and nod. I could hear giggles escaping her lips and look up to see her with her hand over her mouth trying not to burst out laughing. I had to give a small smile back, remembering what had happened.
