8. The text

I groaned. Possibly very loudly because everyone looked at me. "What Madd Hatter?" Abby asked. She must have come out of the bathroom and looked very cute in a black shirt and athletic shorts. Her fishtail braid swung back and forth as she gave me a puzzled glance. "N-nothing. I-I was, um, just noticing the time!" I exclaimed. The last part was true. It was 7 already. As the boys looked at the clock in the room, I turned to Abby and mouthed, 'It's her again.' She scowled at the memory of her, the personality and the looks. If you guys thought my sister was pretty, she was out done by her. Oh, wait. I haven't explained her to you guys yet silly me! I am a blonde I guess! Imagine a middle school. The campus a soft green color because of the grass. Happy 7th and 8th graders walking to their classes. You and your friend start walking towards the main building, talking about the boys you like when your friends nudges your side. You look up to see a tall pretty girl surrounded by a bunch of other girls who are trying to get her attention. The tall pretty girl looks and sees you staring. You look away from her, embarrassed, but you look up and notice she is making her way over to you. She stands in front of you and says, "Move it freaks." She then turns to her posse and says, "Who let them into the school?" All of the girls around her chuckle nervously, obviously scared of this perfect girl. You hear your friend pipe up next to you. "In case you didn't know, the mental hospital opened up a couple blocks down. How did you wander so far with out people putting you in a zoo?" You laugh but stop when you see the mean girl's face. She smiles at your friend and says, "I like you. You are the first person to stand up to me." She then turns to you. "And you. I like you because you don't say anything." She then hands you her phone number and says, "I'm Grace." You look at all the other girls that were surrounding Grace. Their mouths were wide open and were clearly in shock. It was easy to see none of them had ever touched Grace's phone number before. Grace waves her hand and starts walking the way she was originally going. Her posse running after her, all trying to catch up to Grace, and all you can do is look at the slip of paper in your hand. Now, imagine a high school in winter, where everything is covered in white. Kids are nowhere to be seen because it is so cold out. You are in your classroom, looking out at the window, when you feel your phone vibrate from inside your pocket. At that moment, your teacher is called down to the front office. As soon as he leaves, you pull out your phone and see a text from a blocked number. You open the text and see this: 'Nice outfit. Did you pull it out of a dumpster?' Your face falls and you hear snickering from the back of the room. You turn around in your seat to see Grace and her posse gathered around her phone, looking at you with a huge smile on her face. You turn around. This had been the 15th text you had gotten from Grace this period, you don't want to remind your self of how many others you had gotten just today. You put your phone back in your pocket as the teacher re-enters the room. Those two scenes I just made you imagine? Those actually happened to me. And now Grace was texting me. I hesitantly looked at my phone and preceded to unlock it. I looked at the text and my mouth fell wide open. The text read: 'Could I stay over for a little bit? I miss my buddy!!! ;) xxx - Grace' The look on my face must have said it all because the next thing I knew, Abby was leaning her head on my shoulder looking at my phone. She scowled and grabbed it from me. "She probably knows that the boys are here Madison! I am saying N.O.!!" She replied and held my phone out of my reach until the message sent, meaning Grace had got it. I sighed and fell onto the couch. Way too exhausted to move. I glanced up at the calendar on my living room's wall and read what I had to do tomorrow. "Shoot" I muttered. The next day I had gymnastics practice. What was I going to do with the boys?!
