6. Niall's perspective

Niall’s POV

I ran into the shop to find the place totally dark. I couldn’t see Darcy very well but she was still in my line of vision and I wasn’t going to let her out of my view.

“Darcy, wait up!” I screamed at her.

She turned around and smiled at me, holding her hand out but her smile quickly faded. Before I could reach her I heard a thump and she quickly sped off. What the hell? This place was creeping me out.

“Darcy!! Where are you going?” I asked her.

I guess she didn’t hear me because before I knew it she was gone and I was alone in a creepy old fortune teller shop. I shuffled my feet around, searching old boxes full of mysterious junk, trying to find another person here but it seemed like this place was abandoned. Why would the guy tell us to go here if the place was shut down? Where did Darcy go? WHERE WAS THE FOOD? Questions were flooding through my mind but before I had a chance to answer any of them I heard a whimper. I quickly spun around to see a girl, about Darcy’s age, with long, drenched blonde hair staring straight at me.

“hello?” I greeted her.

“thank god you’re here. I’ve been stuck in this creepy little shop for the past hour. I swear there’s someone else in here but they wont show themselves to me,” she said very frightened, quickly running over to me, collapsing me into a hug. What the heck??? Why was she hugging me? Who was this girl? Why was she here? Then it hit me.

“uh is your name Laci by chance?” I asked her, realizing that this might be the girl Darcy had yelled for earlier.

“how did you know?” she whimpered, suddenly frightened of me, even though I was as scary as a baby penguin.

“um I just met your friend, Darcy about 30 minutes ago. She was looking for you,” I explained, trying to calm the girl down.

“oh…. Do you know where she is?” she asked, finally settling down. I shook my head. “crap. I promised to meet her back at the ice cream shop over an hour ago. She’s probably worried sick. We have to find her,” she told me, pulling my wrist off in the distance to find her.

We shuffled around the place and searched a few boxes, calling her name a few times but we had no luck. The place got creepier and creepier by the second and we had been in here for like 20 minutes. finally we heard Darcy’s voice and Laci sped off. This time, I made sure to keep a tight grip on her because I was not loosing another person. We ran around for a bit and finally found her. She was huddled in a corner with a frightened look on her face. Laci quickly rushed to her side.

“Darc, whats wrong?”

“there was an old lady… ,” Darcy’s voice faltered.

“well never mind her. We have to get out of here,” she yelled at Darcy, making her snap back into reality.

Darcy quickly nodded her head while getting up. We headed to the door and busted out to see Harry was already out there. He had been huddled by the door talking to someone on the phone but quickly hung up when we came out.

“Harry?!” I announced, surprised, “how long have you been here?”

“about 10 minutes not too long,” he reassured me while redirecting his attention to Darcy, “you don’t look so good. Seen a ghost lately?”

She quickly gave him a look. We awkwardly laughed it off, still a bit shaken from our little adventure. Harry and I decided to should walk the girls home but when we offered they were quick to deny. I was a bit shocked, I’m not gonna lie but I guess they just wanted to be alone, I mean who could blame them. This had been an eventful day.

Before we left Harry wanted to talk to Darcy alone, so this meant I had some alone time with Laci. I knew I would screw it up considering I don’t really talk to much girls but I actually didn’t have to say a thing. Laci was a very colorful person and before I knew it we were already hitting it off really well. By then Darcy was done talking to Harry and we had to leave. We said our goodbyes and walked away, in opposite directions. It was still raining but I didn’t care, I just met a girl who had no idea I was famous and still liked me. That didn’t happen everyday.

“I really like those girls, Harry, we should get together with them again,” I admitted, still dazed.

“I don’t know about Darcy though,” Harry said unsure, “she doesn’t seem to like me much and something happened to me in the shop…” his voice faltered.

“you didn’t get mugged right?” I said jokingly. He gave me a look.

“I don’t really think you can define what happened to me as getting mugged but it sure felt like it,” he told me, with his voice shaking.

“then what happened?” I asked him.

“… never mind, it was nothing,” he said, making me get the vibe he didn’t wanna talk about it, which was fine with me. “wanna stop to get a bite to eat?” he asked me.

“did you really have to ask?” I replied.

He gave me a short laugh but I could something was really bothering him. Whatever, I was getting me some food!
