Could This Really Be Happening

I woke up the next morning in Harry's arms. But, there was a draft. I was bare.

I jumped out of bed and grabbed some clothes. I put them on quickly and gathered my senses.

Harry and I were bare, in bed. I slid down the wall into a squatting position. I put my elbows on my knees and my face in my hands. I sobbed.

Harry sat up abruptly and looked at me. He then grabbed some boxers and threw them on. He ran to me and sat next to me.

Apparently he came to his senses, too, because he said," Oh no. This is awful. You were. And. Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry, Ellie."

" What if I'm, you know, pregnant?" I hoarsely whispered the last word and sobbed.

Harry held me and said," Then I'll stay through all of this with you. I promise. But you might not be."

This was a big mistake.
