Moments In Time

Chelsea was just an normal girl with an obse... ahem... dedication with the biggest boy band of the generation... One Direction. But as soon as the five-some arrive in Melbourne, Australia, Chelsea's life is turned upside down. Meeting up with them is once-in-a-lifetime... but when more opportunities pop up, it seems too good to be true.

22. We're Definitely In Love...

I woke up during the middle of the night feeling different. It felt strange not sleeping in your own bed, and knowing that it was ten thousand miles away. I sat there for what seemed like an hour and finally checked the time on my phone. Half past three in the morning? I sighed and fell back down into the mattress. I turned over and faced Louis. His duvet was spread out all over the place and he slept in what looked like an awkward position. I laughed silently to myself and turned on my back. I stared up at the roof, I wasn't tired. I didn't feel like going to sleep. I tried positioning myself in a comfy position but it was hopeless.

"You alright, love?" A soft whisper echoed through the room. I shot up and stared straight at the door. I couldn't exactly see the face, but the curls gave it away easy.

"I'm fine, thanks Harry..." I whispered.

Harry pushed the door open a crack, "Mind if I come in?"

I shrugged and Harry walked over to my bed. He took my hand and pulled me out, "Where are we going?"

Without a word, Harry gripped my hand a little tighter and led me down the hallway. We walked into the laundry, which smelled terribly of socks, and Harry pointed up to the ceiling. He pulled down a rope that hung from the roof and a ladder came slipping down from the hatch. We climbed up and Harry pulled back up the attic door. I could hardly see anything since it was almost pitch black, but some blinking lights flooded through a glass doors on the other side.

"Watch your step..." Harry warned as he and I made our way over to the glass doors.  Harry pushed one door open with an almighty heave and a cool breeze rushed through my hair and down my spine. We both stepped out onto the roof and I gazed at the veiw. It was outstanding! Tiny lights flickered from the street lights and nearby houses and in the distance you could see the city of London.

"This is wonderful!" I whispered as my words reached Harry's ears and then drifted off with the wind into the night sky.

Harry nodded, "I wanted to show all of you girls tomorrow night, but I heard you shuffling about in bed as I went to get a drink so... yeah."

I sat down on the tiles and watched the cityscape come to life minute by minute. The honking of cars echoed through the night and the car headlights twinkles like the stars in the sky. Another chill rushed by me and I shivered.

"Cold?"

I shrugged, "A little, but nothing I can't handle."

Harry rose his fingertips to my arms, "Love, your freezing! Come here..."

He wrapped his arms around me and I snuggled closer to his chest. Harry was the boy that I was probably the most closest to, besides Louis. He has such a friendly nature but always had that cheeky side that I was a sucker for. Harry and I admired the view for at least ten more minutes and we headed inside. I stumbled back to Louis' bedroom and collapsed into bed. I seemed to fall asleep instantly...

MIA'S P.O.V.

It's time to get up in the morning...

Got McDonalds breakfast for you...

As Niall sang "Not just any other brand", my eyes flickered open to my leprechaun playing the guitar beside me. He finished the lullaby section and didn't bother to jump on the bed crazily like Louis and Liam did to Harry and Zayn.

"Good morning, beautiful!" he sung as he placed the guitar back on the stand.

"Do you really have some McDonalds breakfast for me?" I asked as I sat up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes, "Cause I'm starving..."

Niall paused, "Do you smell that?"

I sniffed and a strong smell of cinnamon wavered through the halls. Someone was cooking and I didn't know who.

"Let's go see who it is..." Niall whispered as he headed down stairs. I followed closely behind and peered into the kitchen when we got to the bottom. There stood Chelsea, humming away making French toast for all of us this morning.

She looked up and smiled, "Morning my hungry little caterpillars!"

"Morning!" Niall and I laughed in unison.

Niall drifted closer to Chelsea, "Watcha making?"

"French toast, is that alright Nialler?" she laughed.

Without another word, both Niall and I sat down at the table. The scent of freshly cooked breakfast drifted through out the house and caused the boys and Julia to come down to eat. Chelsea gave us three peices each, some orange juice and finally sat down.

"DIG IN EVERYBODY!" she cried as we ate furiously. It was bloody delicious, Chelsea knew how to cook her food. Nialler and I were still hungry afterwards, so we had some toast and jam.

HARRY'S P.O.V.

As we all finished up, Louis offered to help Chelsea clean up. Well... not HELP... more like distract. They kept splashing water at each other and laughing like cute little couples would. I watched as Liam walked up to me.

"Aren't they adorable?" he sighed.

I nodded, "They sure are..."

Liam bent closer to my ear, "He's really committed, Louis is. Niall told me that later he's going to pull out his box-"

"No way!" I didn't need to let Liam finish his sentence, I already knew what he was talking about, "Jeez... He's rushing into it, isn't he?"

"I dunno... but if Lou's gonna do it, it's a clear sign that he's madly in love!"

CHELSEA'S P.O.V.

"Stop!" I cried in laughter as Louis attacked me with water again.  I was TRYING to wash the dishes from breakfast, but Louis came along and turned it into a water fight. I grabbed the tap and faced it at Louis. I turned on the tap and sprayed his neck, causing him to back away. I giggled cheekily and Louis came back after me. He wrapped his arms around me and worked his way under my arms. I was VERY ticklish, so I jumped all over the place. After a while, he slowed me down and rocked me side to side with his hands wrapped around my waist. We both finished off the dishes and he pulled me away.

"I've got something to show you..." he said with a cheeky grin.

"That sounds... disturbing!" I said, smiling like an idiot.

Louis cocked his head to one side, "What... What- No! Oh no no no! Something entirely different!"

I collapsed into laughter and soon calmed down, "Ok then, what ARE you going to show me?"

"How about I show you?" He grabbed my hand and we both ran down the hallway and darted up the stairs. Amazingly, we didn't trip and fall... but we quickly made our way to the laundry. Both of us disappeared into the attic and it seemed way different then last night now I could see. It was packed with boxes, furniture and the odd occasional "thing". Louis slid behind me and raised my hands to my eyes. He guided me slowly to a perticular spot and ordered me to keep my eyes closed. His hands drifted away and I head the soft shuffling of objects being moved.

"Open..." Louis whispered, barely audible.

My eyes flickered open to find Louis dressed up as a pirate, "Avast me hearties! It seems ye found me buried treasure of dress up!"

I gasped and my eyes brightened when I saw a huge dress up box. I rushed over to join him. I slipped on a blue sequin dress and a fluffy pink scarf, "Oh, you are a HANDSOME pirate, you are," I said in a posh accent, "Would you like to go out for some scones and tea?"

Louis wiggled his eyebrows, "Would ye have any rum and sea biscuits?"

"I would suppose we do..." I laughed. I looked through the pile of dress up clothes for a new character. I pulled out a long, blonde wig, a pink dress, white wings and a white wand, "But only if I can come along as well!

Sure, I might be eighteen and Louis would be twenty.. but that by far was the best dress up game of all time. The costume box had everything! Our costumes ranged from mermaids to fast food cashiers, the queen to Little Bo Peep! You name it, Louis had the costume for it. After at least an hour or so... we settled down, Louis dressed as a sailor and me dressed as a princess.

"Your very lucky, Chels..." Louis said.

I adjusted my tiara, "And why is that, Lou?"

"Because I hardly ever show anyone my dress up box. It took me forever to show it to the boys, but I knew I could show it to you..." he replied.

I smiled, "It's a bit like my singing, isn't it? When I sung to you, I felt I could trust you or something. It's just that vibe I get from you, I suppose!"

"It's amazing how one person can be so different from another."

"I know..." I replied, snuggling up to him.

"But, Chelsea, your not different," Louis stated.

I looked up at him, "I'm not?"

He shook his head, "No, your damn unique and I'd like to give you this..."

From out of no where, Louis pulled out a small box with golden edging. He placed it in my hands and I gently opened it. Sitting there in the soft white foam was a silver necklace with the letter L. I almost cried out with happiness, it was the most beautiful necklace I had ever seen.

"I thought it was a lovely 'I haven't seen you in seven months' gift," Louis laughed, "Do you like it?"

"Like it?" I repeated as I swung my arms around him, "I love it!"

Louis then pulled out his wallet, "I also have the photo of the first time we met..."

I almost started to cry. Louis was the best boyfriend a girl could have. Tears of joy slipped down my cheeks then onto his chest as I snuggled closer to him.

"Chelsea... it's ok..." he whispered, "It was just a necklace..."

I shook my head violently, "No, Louis. It was more then that. Thank you..."

Louis then kissed me on the forehead, "No problem..."
