Moments In Time

Chelsea was just an normal girl with an obse... ahem... dedication with the biggest boy band of the generation... One Direction. But as soon as the five-some arrive in Melbourne, Australia, Chelsea's life is turned upside down. Meeting up with them is once-in-a-lifetime... but when more opportunities pop up, it seems too good to be true.

14. Practise Makes Perfect

CHELSEA'S P.O.V

I woke to the sound of birds chirping (it was more Niall snoring but the bird thing sounds more romantic). I stretched a little, not too much to wake Louis up, but unfortunately I did.

"Good morning, Lou! How are you?" I asked, stretching a bit more and cuddling up next to him.

"Rhyming are we? You must be in a good mood!" he laughed.

I shook my head, "Wow, I didn't even realize! How about we start making some pancakes for the boys, Mia and Julie?"

"Sure, I'm starving," Louis agreed.

We both got up and I slipped on my varsity jacket to keep warm for the frosty Melbourne morning. I scanned the pantry for some pancake mix and was successful. Louis had the frying pan ready and I turned it up to medium. Fire lightened and the pan warmed up. I poured the mix into the pan three times for three pancakes.

"Lou, can you get out the toppings?" I asked him as I watched the pancakes carefully.

Louis scanned the pantry, "There's jam, sugar... there's some banana's on the bench. Hey! Does vegimite taste good with pancakes?"

I shook my head, "No, Louis. I don't even think you'll like it on toast!"

As I flipped the pancakes over, a small alarm went off. I soon realized it was Liam's watch alarm and his eyes flickered open.

"Morning Lou, morning Chelsea," he yawned, "That smells good, what you making?"

"Just some awesome, one-of-a-kind pancakes made by moi... and the Louis "Tommo" Tomlinson!" I replied.

There was a knock on the door and Liam got out of bed to answer it. The door swung open and there stood Paul.

"Hey Liam, the boys up yet?" Paul asked as he scanned his eyes past Liam's shoulder.

Liam pointed over to me, "Louis and Chelsea are, but the rest are still asleep."

"Hey!" I waved as I flicked the pancakes onto the plate.

Paul nodded, "Well, can you wake them up for me? We need a good start today."

"Sure, Paul. We'll just have breakfast, get ready and we'll meet you in the lobby." Liam grinned.

"Great, see you soon," Paul ended as he shut the door.

Liam went around waking everyone up like a dad and I finished of making my second batch of pancakes.

"Everyone, just go and sit at the table. I'll get the pancakes done ASAP. Louis, can you go set up the cutlery and plates? Thanks, babe," I ordered.

Louis was my little waiter, and he was pretty good at it too. Everyone love meh pancakes, which was awesome to hear. We all got three huge pancakes each with two slices of toast.

Niall stood up abruptly and tapped his fork against his glass of orange juice, "Ladies, gentlemen, I have a confession to make. Last night was one of the happiest nights of my life. I'm going out the girl of my dreams."

Louis snorted, "Are you sure that girl isn't IN your dreams?"

The group erupted with laughter causing Niall to poke his tongue out at Louis, "Shut up, Louis! Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that Mia and I are now in a relationship!"

I squealed, "Oh my gosh! Thats great!"

When we had finished, we all got dressed into something simple. I wore some light purple jeans, a white singlet and a black cardigan. Mia wore a light blue YOLO t-shirt, a varsity jacket and black leggings with black flats. Julia wore a light pink t-shirt, ripped jeans and black, ankle high boots. All of the boys wore just a plain tee with either jeans or plain pants. We all headed down the elevator to the lobby, where Paul was waiting. Girls flooded the glass doors out side, security doing everything in their power to keep them back. Julia, Mia and I shuffled over where we couldn't be seen and Niall waved to the girls. Paul and the boys walked over to us and we followed a door out the back. We all piled into the Volkswagen can and we drove off towards the arena.

As soon as we got there, Julia, Mia and I were rushed backstage. We were told to choose an outfit with the help of the wardrobe staff.

* * * I was set to wear a singlet, over that a Brooklyn printed hoodie, cut black tights and a pair with comfortable black and white converses * * *

* * * Julia was going to wear a white singlet along with a gray off-the-shoulder jumper, denim shorts and converses * * *

* * * Mia was to wear a sleeveless shirt along with leggings, a varsity jacket and white vans * * *

After at least an hour of choosing and styling, we had all gotten dressed into our finishing product. I looked into the mirror and Louis poked his head in the doorway.

"Looking good!" he cooed.

I grinned and adjusted my hoodie, "What do you think?"

Louis walked over to me and grabbed one of my hands, "I think you look absolutely stunning. You look great with curls!"

He was right, the tips of my hair were curled and they looked amazing, "Do you think Harry will get jealous?"

Louis kissed my cheek, "Probably just a tad."

"Are you folk going out?" Lou Teasdale (the groomer) asked as she played with the make up. Little Lux crawled around her feet.

"Yeah, we're happy little vegimite!" Louis joked causing me to burst into laughter.

Lou nodded, "Good for you! Now, Louis, aren't you supposed to be on stage?"

"Oh, I actually came to gather the girls. We have to go over the songs if they're ready," Louis replied.

"Well, Chelsea's ready," Lou said as she applied the last bit of blush to my cheeks, "I'll just ask Crystabel, Lydia and Caroline if the others are good."

"Thanks, Lou." Louis said as Lou ran off to see if Mia and Julia were ready.

"LOOK AFTER LUX FOR ME!" Lou called as she dashed down the hallway.

Louis and I sat down on the couch nearby. I grabbed Lux, sat her on my lap and Louis flicked the ends of my hair, "A new set of curls to play with, I love it!"

I poked his chest, "Hey, your rocking the stripes!"

"I always wear stripes," Louis whispered.

"And I never get bored of it..." I sighed as I placed Lux beside me and snuggled closer to him, our lips only centimeters apart. Our noses touched and we stared into each others eyes.

"Uh, sorry. Are we interrupting?"
Julia giggled.

Louis jumped off of the couch and dusted his bright red jeans, "Oh no, of course not. Chelsea! How about we get going?"

I covered my mouth to hide my giggling, "Sure Boo Bear..."

"Oh my direction, is that the adorable LUX!" Mia cried as she picked her up.

Lou appeared in the doorway again, "Yes, yes it is. She's a cutie, isn't she? Ok, anyways... go hop on stage now! Management is waiting! Shoo!"

                            *~*~*

We all ran on stage and the director sighed.

"Good, your all alive. I was starting to get worried!" she laughed, "C'mon, I need you all to rehearse 'I Should Have Kissed You' again. We'll run it a couple of times, ok people? We HAVE TO GET THIS RIGHT! Let's take it from the top!"

Julia, Mia and I ran to the sides of the stage and the backing music started.

"Australia! Please give a warm welcome to Chelsea, Julia and Mia!" Liam cried as the trio of us ran on stage.

We were all full of enthusiasum and we run the song a couple of times. It was awesome singing with One Direction, all we had to do now was hope that the directioners liked it.

"Ok! Great job, guys! Chelsea? Louis? Your up!" Louise (the show creative director) cried.

The stools were placed out once more and the music began. It was much more romantic now we were going out, and it was such a romantic song. I think now we were going out, we had more confidence and sung our hearts out to each other. When we were done, we had gotten a great applaud. They loved us, and I just hoped the audience loved it as much as they did. From there, us girls rushed back to the dressing room to change.

"Now, girls. This was just a rehearsal but when your up tonight, security will come to get you and then we'll get you lot ready again," Lou explained, "Excited girls?"

"Definitely!" we all chimed.

Lou's smile brightened, "That's good! Hey Mia, you sure like Lux!"

Mia blushed, "Lux is just SO CUTE! She's, like, the cutest little baby EVER!"

"You can have a photo with her if you like," Lou said as she gathered her make up utensils.

"Oh, yes please!" Mia had yelled as I snapped a photo with Lux. Before we knew it, we all had a photo with the little bub.

After our little "Lux Convention", we headed out to our seats and watched the boys preform. Louise always had something that the boys had to improve on or change about their performance, but I think they were doing great.

After a long rehearsal, it was was soon late lunch time. All of us were hungry, and Subway was only down the road. We needed something healthy after the filling breakfast that morning. I wasn't really hungry, but I did feel like some food.

"Let's go out the back entrance, lads," Liam said, "Directioners have already packed the entrance, and it's not even opening! Not even close!"

We all agreed and headed out to the back. I held Louis' hand and Zayn pushed the door open with an almighty heave.

Niall peered out, checking for any directioners, "Coast is clear, come on our boys!" he whispered.

We all crawled out and I held Louis' hand a little tighter. Out of no where, they came. Lights flashing, question asking, it was madness. I blinded my eyes from the flashes of light and let go of Louis' hand. All of us rushed back in, trying to pull the door closed,

Paparazzi.

Liam had said they would come...

... eventually.
