Face the Music

Julia is your typical sixteen year old girl. She lives with her mother and her little sister Marty, she has her insecurities, she has her boy issues, and oh yeah, her love for the British/Irish boy-band One Direction. When her seventeenth birthday arrives, everything seems perfect....until it all fell apart piece by piece. But to every rainy day there is always a rainbow, what will happen when she unexpectedly 'falls hard' for not one, but two of the boys in One Direction? And what would happen if they both like her back? Would rivalry break everyone apart? Or will the fandom get to them first? Just as life is, every situation has two faces. One is an amazing benefit, and the other could lead to sacrifice...

20. Facing Harry's Present

Harry's POV

I pulled up my car on Julie's driveway and looked at the time, 3:30. Perfect. I got out of my car and was about to press the doorbell, when a sound caught my attention. It was the voice of a girl singing. She had a beautiful voice; as strong as Katy Perry, a range of notes as incredible as Selena Gomez, and yet it was soft and melodic like Taylor Swift. I snapped out of my trance and rang the doorbell. I heard some talking before Julie opened the door and peered out. She looked amazing. And she even had the perfect amount of makeup on. I always told girls to go easy on the makeup, it was better to look natural rather than to look like a crayon raped your face. "Hello beautiful." I said placing a kiss on her cheek. "Were you the one singing just now?" "Wasn't she amazing!" Skylar opened the door wider and joined in on the conversation. "With a voice like that, why didn't you want to sing for us yesterday?" Julie took both my hands in hers and smiled. "Well, I need to get something from upstairs so i'll leave you two for some privacy." With that, Skylar winked and left Julie and I alone.

"Oh! I have something for you." I led Julie to my car and opened the passenger seat door for her before getting in the driver's seat myself. I closed the door and got out a small, gold coloured box with a purple ribbon from the small compartment in the front. "Happy belated birthday Julie." I handed the sleek box to her and watched anxiously for her reaction. She carefully pulled off the long ribbon and opened the box. Julie clasped her hand on her mouth and gasped.

Julia's POV

I wasn't expecting any present from the boys in the first place. Having the opportunity to spend a day with them was already the best present I could ever even imagine coming true! But Harry's present might have just made me reconsider what was the best birthday present.

In the small box, there was a solid gold charm bracelet. It had small charms of hearts in crystals of all different colors. However, the thing that truly caught my eye was the larger sized charm of an adorable cat. "You like it? I know you love your cat and I actually like cats too, so the charm reminded me of you. What I just said could be misleading, so please don't think wrong!" I didn't want to ruin the moment by laughing so I just tried to keep that thought inside of me. (If you didn't get why the sentence would be misleading, replace the word 'cat' in Harry's sentence to what he usually calls cats...) "I love it Harry. Thank you so much!" "Wait, there's more. Turn the cat around." I took the bracelet out of the box and looked on the opposite side of the charm. On the back of the cat, there was a small engraving that said 'Harry+Julie'. When I saw that, two thoughts popped in my head. First, if I wore the bracelet, then it would be official. I would be dating Harry. But second, the bracelet was made of solid gold, so it must have cost a fortune! It would be rude not to wear it.....the only problem was, what about my feelings for Niall?
