Face the Music

Julia is your typical sixteen year old girl. She lives with her mother and her little sister Marty, she has her insecurities, she has her boy issues, and oh yeah, her love for the British/Irish boy-band One Direction. When her seventeenth birthday arrives, everything seems perfect....until it all fell apart piece by piece. But to every rainy day there is always a rainbow, what will happen when she unexpectedly 'falls hard' for not one, but two of the boys in One Direction? And what would happen if they both like her back? Would rivalry break everyone apart? Or will the fandom get to them first? Just as life is, every situation has two faces. One is an amazing benefit, and the other could lead to sacrifice...

16. Face Final Decision??

Julia's POV

I squinted my eyes to the sun streaming into the window through the closed blinds. In the warm morning air, I was greeted by the scent of fresh homemade pancakes and steaming hot tea. I rubbed my eyes and yawned as I reached for my robe and slippers. I looked around to see that I was lying on the sofa in the sitting room alone. I slowly shuffled my feet across the room to the kitchen where the delicious smell was coming from. I poked my head through the kitchen door to try and see what the boys were up to without them noticing I was there. "That looks nothing like a pancake! Here I'll pour the batter. And Zayn whisk the eggs and the flour, don't stir! You know what? All of you GET OUT OF MY KITCHEN!" Harry shouted trying to stifle a laugh. I was the one who couldn't help but let out a smirk instead. "Well look who's been spying." said Liam while setting some finished pancakes on the plates. "Sorry Daddy Direction." I said with a pout on my face as I wallked into the kitchen with my hair in a messy bun. "And who's the head chef of this kitchen?" I asked the boys. "That would be Harry." replied Louis, "He's been at us for not making the perfect pancake for you." Harry blushed a little and continued flipping the pancake he was making. "The perfect pancake huh? Well my mom makes some pretty good pancakes so my expectations are high." I teased. "Well I'll try my best to meet your expectations miss." He replied winking. I hugged him and went to my room to get changed. On my way out, Niall whispered in my ear, "Have a good sleep?" He said smiling. "Yeah thanks." I replied quietly.

Since I didn't really have an intention to leave the house today, I decided to wear something more casual. I put on my white T-shirt that had a large, colourful butterfly on the front and a pair of comfortable grey yoga pants. When I got back downstairs, I saw Liam, Niall, Louis, and Zayn all eating pancakes and drinking tea in front of the television screen in the living room. Meanwhile, Harry was in the kitchen cleaning up. I noticed two plates of pancakes on the table suggesting the fact that other than me, he hadn't eaten yet. "We can clean up later, let's eat first." He nodded and followed me to the kitchen table. I took a bite out of the pancake and chewed slowly. I could see that Harry wanted my opinion of his cooking right away, but I chewed even slower just to make him annoyed. "So?" he finally asked. "You want the truth?" I asked him. He nodded again. "Fine. But remember I warned you. Honestly, this is.....THE BEST PANCAKE I EVER TASTED!" I said with a smile. Harry gave a sigh of relief as he started on his pancakes. "Harry you have to be more confident in yourself! You know you're a good cook! It was granted that I would like your pancakes!" He snickered as I said 'I would like his pancakes.' "Oh jeez Harry! You have such a dirty mind! I don't even want to know what you were thinking about when I said that." He took my left hand in his, "It's different when you're cooking for someone you like and want to impress." I was speechless. The feeling I was feeling with Harry at the moment was how I felt with Niall the night before. Which one of them did I like more??

Harry's POV

"I tried to tell you this when we were in the kitchen yesterday...I really like you Julie. And although I've only known you for a day really, I feel like I've known you my whole life. If I didn't tell you that now, I would probably never have enough courage to say it again." She looked stunned at my words. "But I totally understand if you don't feel the same way." I said pulling my hand away slightly. "No Harry." She reached for my hand again. "I do like you." "Really?" I asked to confirm it. "Really." Julie said with a reassuring look in her eyes. She may not have known it, but she literally made me feel like I was on cloud nine.

Julie's POV

What had I done? Did I really just confirm that I liked Harry more than Niall? Don't get me wrong. I do like Harry a lot, and considering the fact that we almost kissed the day before, it should have been a no- brainer that he is the one I might  like more. But the way Niall was so caring and sweet last night made me regret accepting Harry's words. There was something postive and extraordinary about each of them...I decided to think more on the topic later.

After breakfast, the boys insisted they do the dishes while I relaxed. I thanked them and sat in the living room watching the Olympic 400m sprint on TV. Around ten minutes later, all five boys emerged from the kitchen and stood in front of me. "Julie, Paul actually called this morning. He's picking us up at 1:00pm." I looked at the clock, it was already 11:44am. "We wanted to thank you for letting us stay and all but we didn't know what we could do for you in return. But since we do know you are a major One Direction fan..." Louis stopped to let Liam continue. "We would like to invite you to our concert tonight; front row, and to our rehearsal this afternoon. Would you like to come?" I covered my mouth. "Oh no she's either going to scream or puke the pancakes Harry made! SILLY BOY I TOLD YOU NOT TO COOK!" Louis yelled. I collected myself and put my hand down. "Sorry. It's just that I have been hoping my whole life to get the chance to go to one of your concerts!" "So that makes you excited...But not us staying at YOUR HOUSE?" Asked Zayn in disbelief. I shrugged my shoulders and smiled."That too of course!" "And you can bring a friend if you want." Said Harry. I looked at the ground uncomfortably. Who could I ask to go with me? I suddenly remembered my cousin Skylar. She was a year older than me, but we got along really well since we met as children. I had always thought of her as a best friend somehow and a sister too. The problem was that she lived pretty far from here..."Yeah ok. Thanks!" I replied without thinking. "And I'll pick up you and your friend at 3:30 ok?" Harry asked reaching for my hand. "Sure!" I felt like I was going to scream my head off because of how excited I was. I couldn't believe I was finally going to go to a 1D Concert!
