2. An innocent life

                                                                                             December 4th 1972

Flickers of light. Everyone had their cameras at the ready. White. The white sheet that covered the innocent, petite, new life. Curled. Long, curled soft eyelashes prominently stick out. A miniature hand as slow as a tortoise clasps as tight as a clamped around three of my fingers. Pride, relief and hope clustered my mind. This beautiful baby had been born perfectly healthy, and, it is with it's mother and father. Me. For i am now a father. These thoughts shocked me. How was i supposed to bring up a child . 'Everything will be okay Samantha,' i told our little girl. 'your Mummy will show me how to look after you.' i stated, in a voice that almost convinced myself.
