What Makes You Beautiful (One Direction)

Dani has been supporting her best friend's obsession with the latest guy trends since they were 7. From the Jonas Brothers to Justin Bieber, Dani had heard it all. Dani had never been much to follow the crowd, and never really paid much attention to the latest boy bands. All she knew were the names.
Well, Grace's newest obsession is a little band called One Direction. Dani is constantly hearing about tour dates, concerts, and interviews, but had never heard their music or seen their pictures. Just another boy band, right?
But when Dani unknowingly meets one of the famous band members, her life is changed forever. Especially when she finds out that her summer will also be effected. Will her lack of interest in the band continue, or will she open up to the new atmosphere?

6. Cooking Fail

Dani's POV

Emma and Grace apparently planned a slumber party on Thursday night, which I had not been told about. She still came, and used the guest bedroom. Let me explain why this sucks so much.

You see, the flat is designed so that there is one bedroom on one side of the hall, another bedroom on the other side of the hall, and the master bedroom in the middle. When we first moved into the building two years ago, Grace had decided to give me the master bedroom because I had been through so much. Now, I really wished I hadn't said yes.

Both Grace and Emma were blasting their One Direction CDs. It wasn't even like it was the same song or anything, so it just sounded like freaking noise blaring at me from behind both walls. I jumped, causing my body to fall off the bed and onto the floor. Soft carpet or not, falling of your bed is not a pleasant way to wake up.

"Damn it, guys!" I screamed. This was how they decided to wake me up every time Emma stayed over.

"WAKE UP, DANI! IT'S A SCHOOL DAY!" I heard Grace's voice call as she turned down the music. I growled, seriously jealous of Niall right now. He didn't have to go to freaking school. He was probably still in bloody dreamland right now, unlike me.

I sighed as I got up off the floor and put on a simple pair of short shorts and a blue t shirt. I was in the middle of doing my hair when I heard my phone beep.

-We should do something tonight. Any ideas? -Niall xx-

I smiled before typing back a reply.

*Movie night? Grace has a VERY large TV :) -Dani x*

-Aren't you worried about your friend?-

*I'm dating Niall Horan. I'm pretty sure that keeping this from her isn't going to do anybody any good.*

-Movie night it is then. Have a good day at school-

I smiled and finished my hair before brushing my teeth and applying makeup. When I walked out of my bedroom, Emma and Grace were already gone. Poor Jerry.

Sure enough, as soon as I got off the elevator, I saw Emma and Grace talking nonstop in both of Jerry's ears. He looked relieved when he saw me, and slid a Starbucks vanilla cappuccino across the counter to me.

"Thanks." I said with a smile.

"Don't thank me. You are the one that has to listen to that day and night." Jerry said with a wink.

I walked out to where my car was parked and deactivated the alarm. Grace, Emma, and I hopped over the doors and into the leather seats. I love convertibles!

The radio turned on when I put the key in, and One Thing by One Direction started playing. I think, since I started dating Niall, I've been a lot more lenient about listening to their music. I actually sang along at the chorus.

We pulled up to the school and all piled out. I was eager to get this day over with.

Unfortunately, as soon as we walked through the door, 4 excited girls suddenly had us surrounded.

"OMG! I saw you guys at the CD signing on Tuesday! How did you get past security?!" a red headed girl with freckles dotting her cheeks asked.

Please don't tell them!

"Actually, Dani had a pass that got us up to the front." Emma said triumphantly.

Damn it, Emma.

"Really?! How did you get that, Dani?" the redhead asked. All eyes were now on me.

"Um, well, uh...Radio contest?"

"Which one?"

The bell suddenly blared and I thanked it with all my heart. Saved by the bell!"

"Sorry, I've got to get to class. Bye!" I called over my shoulder as I hurried to my locker. Thank God.

Grace decided to walk me back to my locker after class, so I was a little worried. She usually only goes out of her way to spend time with me when she wants something.

I sighed, "What is it this time?"

"I need a ride home."

"That's it?"

"Grace Flemming spit it out right now."

"Well, I'm your best friend, right?"

"More like sisters, right?"

"I'm sure you would love that." I said sarcastically, even though she really would.

"I would! I thought we were like sisters! Why won't you introduce me to him?!"

I rolled my eyes as we walked outside. I stopped short when I saw who was leaning by my car. It was a boy with a hood over his head and sunglasses over his eyes. He gave me a toothy grin and I smiled, "Because he's right there."

Grace's eyes shot to where I was staring and her eyes widened, "AW! HE WAITED FOR YOU AFTER SCHOOL! THAT'S SO ADORABLE!!"

"Shut up, Grace."

I lead her over to the car and gave Niall a hug. He smiled at me, before looking to Grace behind me.

"You must be Grace. I've heard so much about you." he said.

"And you must be Niall! Man, you even have an Irish accent! You are EXACTLY like Niall Horan! What are the chances?"

I just rolled my eyes at that comment. Idiot friends. Gotta love 'em.

"Oh, are you coming over now then?" I asked Niall.

"If that's all right with you."

"Tonight? Dani, you said we were going over to Emma's tonight! Remember? Slumber party switchies?"

"I never agreed to any of that, so you and Emma are just going to have to wake someone else with your blasting stereos." I told her.

"Hey! Listening to One Direction in the morning isn't a bad thing." Grace said as she hopped into the backseat. I heard Niall chuckle and rolled my eyes at him. At least now he would be able to see Grace for who she really is.

I turned on the radio and Wild Ones by Flo Rida came on, "Finally. Some real music." I said as I slipped on my pair of sunglasses. Niall smacked me playfully, which didn't go unnoticed by Grace.

"OMG! Niall, are you a Directioner too?" she asked.

Niall smiled, "Of course! I know everything about them!"

That was when their conversation took a turn in the wrong direction (I'm hilarious). It was like Emma was in the car too, except Niall actually knew the truth about the band. He was currently filling Grace's head with some of the stories he told me on our first date. Stories even the gossip sites didn't know about.

I walked through the lobby with Niall and Grace still chatting up a storm behind me. Jerry actually burst out laughing when he saw this.

"Get rid of one, and bring back a replacement, huh?" he said through his laughter.

"Worse. This guy knows his facts." I said as I pressed the penthouse button and the doors closed in front of me.

When we finally got to the flat, Grace said she was going to go get ready for her sleepover and left Niall and I alone. I crossed my arms in front of my chest and raised an eyebrow at him.

"What?" he asked.

"If you weren't cute, I would have kicked you out a long time ago." was all I said.

Grace came out of her bedroom a few minutes later with an entire suitcase at her feet. For Grace, this was packing light.

"See you tomorrow!" she said, giving me a hug and waving at Niall. The second she was gone, Niall took off his glasses and hood and hopped onto the couch.

"Nice place you've got here." he complimented.

"It IS Beverly Hills. When I first moved in here, the neighbors downstairs thought I was a burglar and called the cops on me. Goes to show you have to look upper class to live upper class." I said with a sigh. Grace still laughed at that story, even though it happened two years ago.

"Did they really call the cops?" Niall mused.

I sat down next to him and swung my legs onto his lap, "Yep. If Mr. Flemming hadn't been in town that week, I would have gone to prison."

Niall laughed and I rolled my eyes. Everything is hilarious when it doesn't happen to you.

"I'm hungry!" he announced.

"It's only 4:00!"

I sighed, "Fine. Come with me."

To put the next 3 hours in a nutshell, Niall sucks at cooking.

I think we broke about 9 dishes, and went through an entire bag of flour in the end. I wasn't quite sure what we were trying to make, but I wouldn't even feed the final product to an alley cat.

We totally waisted the flour, by the way. We were both covered in the stuff. Plus, about a pound of it was on the floor. Grace was going to flip when she saw this, but at the moment, I didn't care.

"I'm going to go take a shower and change. There's a bathroom over there if you want to get the flour off too." I told Niall with a grin. He nodded and made his way to the extra bathroom while I locked myself in my room.

I showered quickly and changed into sweats. I probably should care about what I looked like right now, since Niall was here, but I honestly didn't. If all we were planning to do was watch a movie, I think I'll manage.

When I walked into the living room, Niall was already on the couch. His clothes still had white spots on them, but they weren't as bad anymore. I flopped down onto the couch and curled up next to him.

"What movie are we watching?" I asked.

"The Terminator is always a classic."

I shrugged as he popped the DVD into the player. I looked up at the 80 inch HD TV on the wall and smiled. With Grace, it was either go big or go home.

The movie started and I rested my head on Niall's chest. He felt so warm, and I was so comfortable.

And, like usual, I fell asleep.
