The legend says that when the Phoenix rises from the ashes of a fallen wizard, six young heroes are ready to take on the honorable task of restoring the country's long lost greatness, but before that can happen, they must be taught the ways of their ancient heroes.

17 year old Beatrice leaves her home in the early morning, to fulfill her duty as one of the chosen ones, knowing she might not return.
For more than thirty years, the country has been ruled by an evil wizard, whose power lies solely in his ability to raise the dead. Chapter Fifteen:

It was way too early when Bea's alarm went off. She didn't want to get up, yet she pushed herself out of bed anyway. She knew she had to. Analiese grumbled something incoherently at the disruption, but soon went back to sleep. Julia hadn't noticed a thing.

Bea busied herself, with silently getting dressed and ready for that mornings lesson with the wizard. It had been almost three weeks of those sessions and she was getting really good at controlling her powers. Even Analiese seemed secretly impressed, despite their growing rivalry. Being a nymph made Analiese particularly fond of herblore, always brewing drinks and potions to improve health and reflexes and whatever else, but Bea's magic was in Analiese's eyes moving in on her territory. She too, was taking private lessons with the wizard, only in the early evening instead of the early morning.

Bea rushed out of the door, she had to meet the wizard in the back room as usual, before he would tell her what today's assignment would be. The corridor was empty, and only lit by a few of the many torches. Luckily the room she was headed for wasn't far. The dim light was enough to creep her out.

She opened the door to the combat-room just enough for squeeze through it, before she closed it again and made her way towards the back.

She had only gotten halfway through the room, when something flew at her from behind her. She didn't think before she spun around and let out a massive roar of energy, and the attacker flew back.

"Nice try.” She said as the wizard appeared in the door behind the enchanted mannequin. “I got you this time.”

"Well done Beatrice. You've made great progress since we started the training.” The wizard said, as he held the door to the back room open for her. “We will be brushing up on some theory today, and proceed with some practice.”

And with that the lesson had begun, and Bea felt she was getting even closer to reaching her best. Suddenly she felt hopeful like never before, she might just make a difference.
