Danté's Book of the Mad, Sad and Dangerous To Know

A collection of poems by me. Most of these are completely spontaneous so...we'll see how they turn out.
There is no overall theme to these, though I suppose "Dark" is one. Enjoy, I hope.

8. The Vampire

You think you know me,

Think you’ve felt my heart,

You think you can love me,

Though your love is like a dart,

So give your neck to me,

And let me bite it here,

Until your blood fills me,

And your soul is filled with fear,

Whisper now, goodbye to me,

As your blood stains the ground,

In time you’ll forget me,

And do not fret, you will be found,

You will then search for me,

But as time passes you by,

You will never find me,

And after years you will die,

And in time others will meet me,

And share the same fate as you,

And all will forget me,

As so many are bound to do,

And it is through me,

That so many will be lost,

Some will remain with me,

Others will face the cost,

For to fall in love with me,

You must prepare for misery,

It will be thanks to me,

That so many of you will see,

That none are as immortal as me,

The vampire you thought so kind,

Be prepared to fall for me,

As I take over your mind,

So whisper goodbye to me,

As I leave you on this street,

Again, you will never see me,

And again, we will never meet.
