Danté's Book of the Mad, Sad and Dangerous To Know

A collection of poems by me. Most of these are completely spontaneous so...we'll see how they turn out.
There is no overall theme to these, though I suppose "Dark" is one. Enjoy, I hope.

11. Peace

Peace is an illusion,
Ready to be broken,
By a single spark,
Of a violent flame.

You can always dream,
Of a passive world,
But human nature dictates,
A pursuit of violence.

As our race evolved,
We became great experts,
In the killing art,
With weapons and skill.

As a wise man,
Said so long ago,
"In times of peace,
Men prepare for war."

"And when conflict looms,
Men dream of peace."
So dream for now,
Until you must wake.

There is always conflict,
That you cannot escape,
Until the true peace,
Of your eternal death.
