Danté's Book of the Mad, Sad and Dangerous To Know

A collection of poems by me. Most of these are completely spontaneous so...we'll see how they turn out.
There is no overall theme to these, though I suppose "Dark" is one. Enjoy, I hope.

1. Evil One

You look at me now,

With eyes black and cold,

I dread your next words,

That you speak in a language so old.

Do not frighten me please,

I have done nothing wrong,

Let me go now, I beg you,

I’ve been scared for too long.

No, turn away from me, now,

I do not wish to feel your hate,

It’s something I can’t handle,

Death at your hands is not my fate.

Your skin is burning and I feel it,

Your words are cruel and I hear them,

Your gaze is malicious and I fear it,

Oh, I did not mean to steal that gem.

Had I known it was yours I would not have taken it,

My heart would have ceased when I’d touched it I know,

But take it I did and now you shall kill me,

For taking something that was beautiful as snow.

Yes, I see the sword you hold,

And no, I don’t want to die,

But you will not forgive me my sins,

And all I can do is cry.

Now you have spilt my blood,

And retrieved what is yours,

And as I lie here bleeding,

I say to myself, “If only I hadn’t opened those doors.”
