Have you ever wondered what it would be like to fly. Fly to a far away world and never come back. Emily did. Her life was at rock bottom and was never going to be picked back up again. Until she met someone. Someone who would change her life forever. When she finds who and what he his her life is fine. Until the pain kicks in and changes her too...

3. First lesson with Him

As I slowly sauntered down the science block a familiar chirpy voice rattled the sound waves in to my head.

"Hey, new girl. It's here." she had called. Good grief, I didn't know how anyone could stand her. I took a deep breath and hurried down the hall for a reason I don't know why. As I entered the room all of the bored faces turned to look at me with a synchronised feel that chilled me. The teacher, I'm guessing Mr Fully, looked through his massive specks and reluctantly put down the white board pen and pointed to the desk next to the window. Someone was already there. A boy no more than 17 and the most silky of straw like hair. His eyes were cat like, bright emerald green and had what seemed like ovals for pupils. As I looked he had moved silently over to the far end of the desk. His eyes focused on mine for a fraction of a second, then he shot down to the bottom on the floor and threw his bag on the table. His hands were frantic, it was like he was avoiding me. I sat down and waited for this lesson to be over. Every second I felt his beady and intriguing eyes stare full on at me with out moving an inch. If I even dared to twitch the slightest inch, his eyes would follow me as if they knew what I was going to do. Half way through he had eventually murmured something, which sounded like a greeting in a foreign language.

"Hello. I am Emily. Who are you may I ask." I had said trying to make some of the tension disappear. I didn't work. Instead of talking, and removing his cemented hand, he wrote quickly his name on the piece of paper and slid in my direction. It was a very detailed hand writing:

"Henry Banks"

Even though it wasn't particularly beautiful it was like it had a secret that was wrapped in the cover. I liked it. Suddenly there was a crack. It wasn't just the tear of paper. It sounded like a bolt of lightning hitting something. The pure force must have been outstanding for something to create that noise. That's when I had noticed it. Just where Henry had sat 10 seconds ago was covered in sparkling fragments of glass. Some big but mostly small. The were shreds of jeans and of a green top. The exact same as what he was wearing. And he was gone. Just like that he had vanished. I don't know where, but he had gone.
