3. Wanting

Chapter Three - Wanting

Weird. Is that how I'm supposed to feel to that touch, I hope to god that it's not gonna be a recurring theme in my life. He made my life hell. I can't just forget about all that.

Even if I may be exaggerating on the whole hell in my life, but to twelve year old girls everywhere, it's gonna be hell when a guy takes the Mickey out of you.

I was now ploughing my way through the day.

First period - English Literature

Second period - Biology

Third period - Geography

Fourth period - Maths

Fifth period - English Language

Sixth period - FREE LESSON

It was now sixth lesson which I was waiting all day for.

Making my way to the library I turned the corner but retreated back round it when I saw who was leaning against the wall. Max.

I peered around the corner to see what was going on. It was him and some blonde. I couldn't see her face clearly until she moved her head slightly in my direction.

I could clearly see who it was and what they were doing now. The blonde's name is Katie Patterson and she is one of the most naive, slutty and egotistical girls in the whole school.

She will basically sleep with anyone to get a good story, seeing as she's on the school magazine as editor in chief. No one reads it unless there's a good front page story with all the gossip into someone personal life.

Katie's back was now up against the wall with Max stood in front of her. I could only just hear their conversation.

"I really like you Max and I'm willing to show you how far I would go to prove to you how much I like you.... If you let me," I could hear Katie try to say seductively.

I cringed at the thought of her trying to seduce him with that line.

Looking back round to see the action with those choice of words. She was trying to undo his shirt and was getting closer and closer to him.

"I would love you to show me how much you care but I have to talk to you," he tried to stop her.

He moved away a little and pushed here backwards which made her stumble and I let out a giggle by accident. Katie obviously heard and whipped her head round to see the perpetrator but I quickly moved back round the corner keeping quiet.

"Who's there?" she called out but then there was a silence.

"There's no one there Katie, but I really need to talk to you about something," Max ushered her back to his subject.

I peered back round the corner to see that she was closing in on him again and he was trying to resist as best as he could.

"Why talk when we can do?" she carried on trying to seduce him. I emphasise on the fact that she was TRYING to do all these things but not succeeding.

She flipped it so now Max's back was against the wall and she ripped the buttons from his shirt so it was now open. She leaned forward and placed kisses all over his torso, Max on the other hand was trying to push her away.

"I'm not into you like this Katie. I like someone else," he revealed to her.

"Who is this bitch!" she shouted in his face. Her mouth hanging wide open and her hip cocked to the side.

"She's not a bitch, she's a whole load better than you.. She's ten times more beautiful, smart and she makes me laugh like no one else can." he admitted to a shocked Katie.

"That's not true,"

"Yeah it is. And I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm actually interested in someone enough to be in it for the long run," I heard him say to her.

Wow.

Mr Max 'the player' Bowman had admitted that he wants to be in a long relationship with someone. Well I for one feel sorry for the poor dear that Max has his heart set on. And I wish her all the best of luck too.

"Fine! But you'll come crawling back once she sees that you belong with me," she said through her now gritted teeth.

She walked away in a huff and Max just stood there. I whipped my head back round the corner so I was out of sight of Max.

I could definitely use this later against a certain someone I know. I continued on down the hall until I got to the library and set down to do my work.

Who could he like?

I could take a few guesses but they'll all probably be wrong, I planted my folder on the desk and flicked through a couple of papers till I found my study sheet.

I started on Maths and then would go onto English and so on...

But I felt a pairs of eyes watching me, I looked up to see Willa Hastings glaring at me from the table opposite. I peered back down trying to avoid her gaze, but I could still see her looking at me from the corner of my eye.

I decided just to ignore her and to get on with my work. As soon as I was focused, I was nudged hard on the shoulder. I lifted my head and saw that Willa had walked into me whilst leaving the library.

I seriously don't know what her problem is. She glares, bumps, scowls, shoots daggers and penalises me. No one else.

Just me.

In year two, she used to wake up during nap time and pour water down my front and then embarrass me by saying that I wet myself.

And in year seven, I had put my hair into two high bunches one day. And in art she crept up behind me and cut of one of my bunches so I had boy hair for almost a year.

Then in year nine she knew I was allergic to the schools juice boxes, so when I took in my own juice (like I did everyday), she spiked it. And emptied my drink out and poured in the schools juice into my cup instead.

I went bright red, my throat started to close up. I couldn't breathe and she just stood there with a camera taking pictures, pointing and laughing at me.

Katie was in on this too and helped her with all the horrible things that Willa has done to me. They called it a successful team effort in operation 'Break!'

If I thought that Max was bad, Willa and Katie are a hundred times worse than him.

***

I was now at home from my long day and I still had no idea about who Max liked yet. And I really wanna know. I flopped back down on my bed and sighed heavily.

A sudden knock was tapped against my door.

"Come in if you want to join the confused and mentally unstable!" I shouted towards the door. I heard the door click open and the bed space next to me sink down a little.

I peered next to me to see Drew laid down next to me.

"Hi I'm Danielle, and I'm a depressed mental case with a lot on her mind and a confused conscience." I admitted to him.

"I feel like I've just taken a wrong turn into crazy town," he replied.

"Just go along with it," I whispered to him like a dozen other people were standing in the room.

"Right okay, hi my name's Drew, I have a sister who I swear I'm not related too and she has listening problems as I've come to tell her something," he told me as he sat up.

I sat up at the same time as him.

"I'm listening," I said to him raising my eyebrows at him.

"Hannah and I want some alone time in a bit so we can you know, and can you go out maybe so that we can...." I stopped him right there before I heard things I didn't need to.

My photographic memory doesn't just save images up there but voice notes get stored up there too.

"I get it! I'll go just if it would just get you to shut up about it," I said making my cringe-y face.

He patted my back and left my room to go back to his.

I decided another run would get my mind off things so I changed into my tracksuit bottoms, vest, jacket and finally grabbing my iPod to listen to on the way.

Not a lot of people were out. To be honest, I had expected more people to be out and about. Plugging my earphones into my ears, Kelly Clarkson was the first thing to blast out of them.

I avoided the forest, the uneven ground can make you cautious of where you step. And when running, you always have to know where to go.

I was on my way up the hill and wanted to take a little break so I sat down on the old bench on top of that hill. I took a load off and panted a little whilst leaning back.

It was still beautiful up here, not just in the morning but during the afternoon and the evening too. Watching the sunset rise in the morning and then watching it fade at night too.

I heard footsteps behind me but ignored them as it was probably just another runner passing through.

"Well I never thought I'd see little miss perfect up here," I heard a deep voice say from behind me. I turned round and wasn't exactly happy to see the body the voice came from.

But I did need to ask him a question...
