Dreams can teach lessons.

Amber is at her boyfriend George's party. People call her Slut, Bitch, Alcoholic and druggie, but does she care? Her mother died and she chose the wrong path, now she is faced with a decision.
Choose to carry on the life she lives or live the life she was meant to have.

10. Stop it!!!

When I walked into the party there were so many whispers. I have never felt so nervous in my life, but I sucked it up and held my head high. “Who is that?” I heard one girl say from amongst the crowd. “I think it’s Amber.” I heard another say. I was now standing in the middle of the room, looking at them all. George ran into the middle and took my arm. “What are you doing?” He growled squeezing my arm. “Oh you don’t like this? Well tough luck.” I hissed and then raised my voice. “This is me and I am not ashamed. So think what you want I don’t care, I know the names I was called and that is not who I am.” I spoke to everyone.

“Amber, get changed and maybe you can save your reputation.” George whispered. “I don’t care about my rep anymore; I don’t care about you either, since you cheated on me with Libby.” The crowd gasped and they all turned to look at Libby, she ran out of the room, filled with embarrassment. “Please Amber.” He began to pull me through the room when I heard a cracking noise. I looked and George was on the ground, and Mark stood, blood covered his knuckles. He panted; obviously he didn’t know what to do, so he hit him. My brother was pretty strong.

“Mark.” I smiled at him. “Is that my clothes?” He asked a smug look on his face. “Yeah all my clothes are gone.” I smiled shyly at him. He smiled when a girl pulled on his arm. “Come on Mark.” He shrugged her off. “Get lost.” Her mouth dropped. “You did NOT just say that.”

“Well I obviously did.” They began to have an argument and I snuck away and off through the house. I stood in the sitting room, next to the window when George walked through the door, his eyes settled on me and he headed in my direction. “Amber!” He scowled and grabbed my hand again. “Leave me alone George.” I turned away and left the room. But he followed close behind me.

“Leave me alone George!” I pushed him, from the corner of my eye I saw Charlie, he was talking to some guy but he patted him on the arm when he saw me and left him. Next I knew it Charlie was next to me. His lips next to my ear. “You ok Amber?” His gaze was fixed on George. “We are just talking so you can go back to whatever you were doing.” George commented. “I wasn’t talking to you, I was talking to Amber.” His voice was harsh and his eyes were like sharp pieces of glass when he looked at George, they always were.

“This isn’t your business Charlie.” George pushed Charlie back a few steps. Charlie returned the favour giving him a quick shove. They squared off, heads touching as they challenged each other. This would end badly. Both boys were on the wrestling team, often fought each other but Charlie has never liked George, when they fight no one misses it.

“You seem to forget George, I beat your ass in the ring there is always a ref to stop us, if you fight me now you will be walking into the emergency room with more than a broken nose, so leave her the fuck! Alone.” Charlie hissed, that was true he always beat George. I touched Charlie’s arm making him look in my direction. “I can handle this.” I stepped in front of him, his jaw hardened as he really didn’t like this idea.

“George leave me alone.” I snapped and he shook his head. “You are mine.”

“Should have thought of that before you cheated.” I slapped him across the cheek and the sound travelled throughout the room. He rubbed his cheek eyes full of hate. “Fine, it’s over.”

“It was over about an hour ago.” I snarled. “Take your slut Charlie, I don’t need her anymore.” He looked around me and at Charlie; George turned away and began to walk. “That’s it.” Charlie’s fists were clenched at his side; he walked around me and tapped on George’s back. “Wha-“ when he turned around Charlie punched him. “You fucking called her that again and I will seriously beat the crap outta you!”

Charlie was furious; I think the worst part of all this was the fight that was going to happen because of me. Some of George’s friends came to back him up. It was four against one, which was not fair. Charlie rolled his shoulders and now my brother stood behind him. “Mark, Charlie! Stop this!” I grabbed their arms but they insisted on squaring them up. Some more of Charlie’s friends had heard what was going on and came to back him up.

“God! Stop this nonsense!!” I stood between George and Charlie; I placed my hand of Charlie’s chest. “Please.” I pleaded and he nodded. “We will settle this in the ring on Tuesday!” Charlie pointed at George before I dragged him away and out the front door.
