8. Promise me.

“Amber, come on.” Ally put her arm around me. “I-I-I-I want her back. Why did she have to go, I didn’t get enough time.” I sobbed as she pulled me into her shoulder, rubbing my back she kept whispering in my ear. “Amber it will be ok. She is always with us.” She reassured me.

When I finally stopped crying we returned through the door. I took one last look but my mum wasn’t there, I could still smell her hair though. I sat in the middle of the room in silence. “Amber, my time here is over as well.” I had grown to like Ally; I didn’t want her to leave. “You can’t leave me to.” I looked into her eyes. “I have to, but remember I am the little annoying voice in the back of your mind, whenever you need to talk, just let me speak. Don’t ignore me anymore.”

She patted my hand. “Now since you promised mum something will you promise me something?” She asked, her big gray eyes blinking innocently. I owed her. “Yes.” I nodded, holding back the next lot of tears. “First promise me that you will sort Mark out.”

“I intended to do that.” I told her, a smile appeared on my face, as for hers. “Second please for the love of GOD bin the extensions.” I laughed. “And third?”

“Please dump George, dump him like the piece of trash he is!” she raised her voice slightly. “Deal, anything else?”

“Yes, please don’t pretend to be something you aren’t, be yourself. I’m sure it will make a lot of people happy.”  There was a bright light and a white door with a brass handle appeared. “Your rides here.” She pointed her thumb behind her. “Do I have to go?” she looked upset. “Yes, fraid so.” She helped me up and then walked me to the door. I gave her a hug, not wanting to let go. “I will miss you.”

“No need to I will always be here.” She touched my head. “Good I will be talking to you more.” She giggled. “Yeah.” I turned the brass handle and the brightest light flooded the room. I could just make out Ally. “Visit me in your dreams.” She waved then wiped her face. “I will.” I called and went through the door back into reality.
