16. The Way Things Used To Be.

Niall's P.O.V.

Once we arrive at the hotel again, Kayla and Josh bombard us with questions. It's a little awkward for Sadie, but we might just have to get used to it. We decide to relax by the pool for a while. Kayla drags Sadie up to their room, probably to help her get ready. Kayla seems like she'll do fine if Sadie's memory doesn't return. I shudder thinking about it, then walk up to my room with Josh.

"How are the other lads lately?" I ask, sliding the key into the door.

"They've been fine. El and Louis have been shopping around, Liam and Danielle went to Venice, and God knows what Haz is doing. Zayn is visiting Perrie," Josh answers. I nod. We step into the air conditioned room, the coolness hitting me like a ton of bricks. It felt great. I slip into my green swimming trunks and grab a towel. Josh wears black trunks, and we walk down to the lobby again. We take a few right turns until we arrive at the pool. I immediately dive in, throwing my towel to a chair. I stay underwater for as long as possible. The temperature was perfect. I stand up, having to be on my tip toes from the depth of the water.

"How's the water?" Josh questions, walking towards the edge of the pool.

"It's perfect, mate!" I call to him. He smiles, removing his shirt and letting it fall to the floor. I laugh as he hits the water with a splash, disappearing, then revealing himself again. We high five before hearing the door click. We both snap our heads towards the abrupt noise, and watch as the girls walk in. Sadie was so beautiful. The way her hair falls perfectly, the way her eyes twinkle when she looks at me, and the way she responds (blushing and shyness) when I tell her what I think of her are the things I like the most about her. I love everything about her, though. She's perfect. I just want-no, need- her to remember who I am and what was between us. Or, at least, what I think was between us. Kayla and Sadie jump in, laughing with each other. I could tell Sade has already warmed up to Kayla. I smile, assuring myself everything will be fine. Kayla paddles over to Josh, leaving Sadie and I behind. Sadie starts to walk over to me, pushing water to the side with her arms, and I meet her halfway. I place my hands on her waist, and she blushes.

"I used to tell you this all of the time. Since you don't remember, though, I have an excuse to tell you more often. I love it when you blush. I think it's adorable," I beam at her. Her face turns a shade redder, and I laugh. I trace her jawline with my finger, smiling as I do. She smiles right back, maybe even twice as big. Our expressions fade as we slowly lean in towards each other. I smile again, though, right before our lips touch.
