The Sweater Song

Another kind of fanfic from a Hedley song called, well, The Sweater Song. It's ridiculously cute and therefore I had to write a story. It's only short but still. I'll divide it up, too. Cheeky Jacob Hoggard as the cover. Likes, favourites and comments are always appreciated. (:

2. Chapter 2

The shrill ringing cried out through the quiet apartment. She looked up from her book, and ran and dived for the phone.

“Hey, baby.” He said. Just the sound of his voice cheered her up.

“Babe, I miss you. Come back home.”  She knew it was impossible, but still.

“I really can’t...”

“It can’t be long, not much longer. How many days left?”

“Five. I hate this place.” He paused, and she could hear him shut a door. “I hate being stuffed on a bus, all alone. But I wrote you a song. I’ll play it to you the second I get back.”

She beamed. “I just sent you a letter, I sent it to the hotel you’re staying at. It should arrive there soon. And just so you know, I’m still in your sweater. It’s almost like you’re here with me.”

She stroked the cuff of the sweater with her free hand. It was the same blue as his eyes.

“I’ve got your shirt with me. All the time, it’s with me. I miss your smile, your face, your beautiful face. Darling, I miss you.”

“It’s only five more days. I can’t wait.”

“I can’t wait to see you either. I gotta run, I’ve got a gig in 20 minutes. I love you.”

“Okay. I love you. I’ll see you soon.” She pressed ‘End’ on the phone, and tried to imagine that he was home right now with her. Only five more days.
