The girl from the waves

Zina - May Blackburn had always loved life in her home village just outside Johannesburg until suddenly her parents rooted their family up and moved to a desolate island near the seychelles islands. But why?! Zina found herself lonely and miserable with the door of her parents study standing inbetween her and the pepole she thought she knew and loved. The only thing that brightened up her life was when her beautiful couisn visited... she was always full of mystery and excitement!
Belonging is something Zina's always wanted...
Longing is something Zina's always had...
With her 15th birthday drawring near everything seems to be a blur. Will she be able to cling on to her last hope of life or will she be tossed into the depths of her parents misery yet again..?

Hope you enjoy it! This is for the picture prompt coml! :D xoxo

4. Goodbye for now.

My heart sank as Aph told me:

“My planes at 12 and I’ve still got to get the ferry out to Mahé !”

“But-but-its 10:30 already! We could get you a private jet so you don’t have to go all the way to an island in Seychelles! You don’t have to fly out to Mahé-“

“Yes, Zina, I do. I’m sorry! I’ll see you again very soon, I promise.”

Even though I have been promised a lot of things in my life that weren’t kept , this one seemed sincere, like it really would happen.

“Okay then… if it’s true! Anyway it’s my birthday soon, you’ll come then, right?”

“Of course!”

A cloud of smoke carpeted the rocky island as the giant white and grey ferry stopped, waiting for Aph. She was a V.I.P, of course (they wouldn’t usually stop for one person in the middle of nowhere).

Trotting up the stairs to the ferry, she turned around, put her hand to her glossy red lips; kissed it then waved. Last I saw of her was her little scarlet heels stepping into the fog…
