6. Chapter 6

After passing through a labyrinth of corridors, they stopped at a door.

"gal synth al oute ythoerth" Aoren muttered under his breath. "You will not repeat what I tell you now, but believe me, try not to show off or to fight. Do only what you must. please

-The chamber was vast and circa empty, had it not been for the middle aged man sat on a black throne at the top. The throne looked different from what Storm had expected. Then she realised why. It was made out of skeleton bones, rotten flesh still attached.

She gulped.

A small nudge in her back reminded her why she was there. She stumbled forward, biting her bottom lip.

Darius rose.

"And why have you brought me this Thing?"His voice hid nothing, he was disappointed

"Master, great king. Let her show you. Try her."

He threw a sword with his mind across the chamber, aiming for Storm.

Without a hint of panic, she stopped it moments before it hit her.

"Ah, Aoren, I see why you have brought her."

"What is you name, child?" He voice glinted with malice.

She glanced at Aoren-who nodded- before saying.

"How very unusual. Storm. "

Darius sauntered around the chamber, his eyes glinting with an evil spark.

He smiled.

Storm collapsed to the floor, writhing, a continuous scream echoing. Her eyes darted around, searching for a way out of the torture. The pain was blinding, a stabbing white-hot pain. She lay still, panting while Darius looked on, impressed. He rolled his eyes, pulling a thoughtful face.

"This will be interesting."

Storm woke with a stiff back and a growing pain in her head. The floor was cold and wet, her breath forming puffs of steam as she exhaled. She sat up slowly, ignoring the stabbing pain running through her.

There was a small window, no larger than a cat, behind her with bars that matched the front. The walls were made of solid rock, water running down them and where the door should have been were bars. Thick man-made bars. They buzzed, Storm realised as she neared them, and glowed a slightly blue colour.

She reached out to touch them.

An electric shock knocked her backwards, making her hit her head odd the wall, the shock so powerful it made her teeth hurt.

"Oh, Storm. You silly little thing!"

She flinched at the sound of his voice.

"I did tell you they were enchanted. You must listen more."

She lay on the floor a moment longer before slowly sitting up again.

"This is Kalith, Storm. She will look after you today, make sure you don't run off. She will also tak you to get some new clothes because, truthfully, you are not dressed like a saghe."

He turned and stalked out, flanked by two yarah.

Storm looked warily at Kalith, her eyes darting again for escape. Kalith waited until Darius' footsteps had dissappeared before dropping to her knees next to Storm. Reaching her hand out, she gently touched her face along the scratch that Darius had created.

"Child. You poor, poor child."

Storm tried not to flinch away from human contact, something that, for a while, she had received nothing of.
