1. Finding

It was a rainy day. Two young children sat glued to the TV screen. "I can't believe this, you two are just... Oh doesn't matter." their mother moaned. A few silent seconds later, the mother marched in to the room and turned the telly off.

"I am sick to death off what you two do all day, come with me and I will show you something that didn't involve telly or technology all together." the mother said, disappointment lingering in her voice. She climbed the stairs to quick for the children to follow easily. By the time they got to their mother's bedroom she had found what she had been looking for..

"Moma, what's that?" they youngest one asked. The mother looked up slowly, not wanting to look away. It was as if she was scared it would disappear if she took her eyes away from it.

"This my dears is your great grandma's diary. She was alone on an island for the last month of her life in 1940 a year after the world war 2. This is our last memory of my grandma. If you want me to read it then you will learn on how she had to survive alone."

"Yes please moma, I've wondered why papa never told us about her when we asked for the full story. It will be great to use for my family history project at school. Please tell us." the 10 year old said, she was looking for a place to sit, eager to know how her great grandma had survived in the war. Her mothered moved to the bed and patted beside her to let the children sit. They watched with eager and desperate eyes as their mother turned the page and was ready to reveal all of the secrets they had been wanting to hear.
