L'Ombra della Vendetta (The Shadow of Vengeance)

L'Ombra della Vendetta is a fanfiction about World of Warcraft.
Don't feel discouraged from its length, the story seems huge but is actually pretty short. I hope you'll give it a try.

This is a work of fantasy. The entire world where it takes place is owned by Blizzard Entertainment.
This story and its main characters are products of the author’s twisted imagination.

Its content may be not suitable for sensitive people, because it contains acts of violence even towards defenseless people.

24. Notes and Credits

Ok, first things first: I want to thank you for reading my story. It was the first time for me, and I really enjoyed writing it, even if it was pretty hard to translate. I'm Italian and years ago I dropped out high school, so I learnt most of my english on the net (and on WoW). I want to thank Light and Bass, my girlfriend and my best pal, who really helped me with the translation. I wouldn't be able to complete it, without their help.

About story, it takes place between 4.2 and 4.3 patches. It's mainly set in Dalaran (half-empty after WotLK end), Ratchet, Mount Hyjal, Firelands' Molten Front, Stormwind and lastly Hillsbrad Foothills.

According to lore, these zones (as well as all Azeroth) are way larger than we actually see in game. This make sense to things like, for example, the existence of places to live for the entire population. Or to play situations in stories like this one.

The protagonists are based, well, on my characters. Their names are slightly changed, however I kept many details, like their gear and specs, which helped me to somewhat characterize them.

Loremaster Lithos is an arcane mage and wears the purple Kirin Tor Garb ( http://wowroleplaygear.com/2011/09/01/conquerors-kirin-tor-garb/ ).

Crusader Razlo (no surname, like all Draenei) is armored with the silver Wrathful Gladiator's Redemption ( http://wowroleplaygear.com/2011/12/30/wrathful-gladiators-paladin-sets/ ) and he's a protection paladin.

The peaceful Pat wears the Nordrassil guardians' Harness ( http://wowroleplaygear.com/2011/08/22/nordrassil-sets/ ) and the leafy Cenarion Shoulders ( http://wowroleplaygear.com/2011/08/22/cenarion-raiment/ ). She's a restoration druid.

Callie, assassination rogue, wears the shadowy Bloodfang Armor ( http://wowroleplaygear.com/2011/08/22/bloodfang-armor/ ) and she uses two Shard of Azzinoth as weapons.

Physia wears the Nemesis ( http://wowroleplaygear.com/2011/08/22/nemesis-raiment/ ) and, as you can tell by her pet, is an affliction warlock.

Her twin Sophia wears the Prophecy's blue recolor ( http://wowroleplaygear.com/2011/05/08/primal-mooncloth/ ) instead, and she's a holy priest.

In the end, a couple of details about Callie.

She sings in her native tongue, Gnomish ( http://www.wowpedia.org/Gnomish ), even if in the story I used Italian quotes to keep outlandish her moonspeaking. The songs are by Fabrizio De André ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabrizio_De_André ), search him on Youtube, he was awesome.

The way Callie kills her victims follows the principle of contrapasso ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contrapasso ) on the violences suffered by Astrid.
