Sweetest of the Sweets

Revenge is sweet when you want to hurt the ones that you love. Ariana's betrayal leaves her hungry for it. To hurt him.
That sugercoated knife will take a plunge for sweetness stopping at nothing short of pain.

4. Let the Sugar Rush Begin

Ariana's POV

That son of a bitch didn't recognize me!

You would have though that someone that you used to kiss everyday, see every minute and speak to every night would ignite at least a flicker in their memories. But not with him.

Today, I saw those big bewitching brown eyes, the eyes that I used to adore so much.

Remembering them now just made me sick.

I stood in the bathroom stall and leaned against the graffiti covered wall. Was I angry?

Hell yes, I was! I kicked the opposite panel that enclosed me and screamed in frustration.

"Calm down, Ariana" I thought to myself. I took deep breaths and slid down to the floor.

It hurt that he had forgotten me. More than it should hurt. I promised myself that I wouldn't fall for him again. But the sad, fatuous truth was I had never fallen out of love with him. Stupid, stupid, STUPID!!

That's when the imaginary light bulb in my head lit.

I wiped my eyes, which I didn't even notice were wet and climbed back onto my feet.

Unlocking the flimsy toilet door, I stumbled towards the mirror and looked at myself.

My hair was no longer the dark chocolate colour I once had, but subtle red. I was wearing the make-up I usually didn't wear. I wore rose blush. Brown eyeshadow and eyeliner thickened my eyes. I had more confidence than normal. I was different. I guess even I would barely recognise me.

Reapplying my lush red lipstick, I combed through my hair and stood straighter.

Rhys is going to fall in love and get his sweet little heart broken.

I sat at an empty dinner table at the corner of the dinner hall next to a huge clear window that faced several towering trees, I could just about see birds fighting through the tear shaped leaves.

I pulled out my salad that I had packed from my white bag, and began to eat looking at the wide veiw, captured by the beautiful and bright colours that illuminated the landscape...I'd forgotten how beautiful this place was.

"Hey, do you mind if we sit here?" A voice rang out. I looked up to see three girls standing before me.

One had long and straight blonde hair flowing shoulder length and pink Gucci bag. The other two, I could tell from first glance just followed the blonde one around...The minions to the fake one. Both of the "minions" wore their brunette hair identically in a messy bun, their faces plastered with make-up.

Immediately, unlike Rhys, I remembered who they were...

"Hey, Fatty. How's Rhys?" Chloe Jenkins asked after strutting towards me. I was by a tree reading a book. Ignoring her, I flipped the page, not looking up.

She twiddled her dirty blonde hair between her fingers, she carried on with the jeers. "Has he dumped your ass yet?"

I stayed silent but the aggravation made my blood boil. I felt close to telling her to mind her own goddam business, but retorting would only make it worse.

"Hey," she spat. "Look at me when I talk to you!" Her hands clamped down on my shoulders and she pushed me against the tree. I gasped and dropped the book as my spine slammed the hard tree bark causing pain to erupt from where sharp edges bore into me.

Positioning her head directly in front of mine, she began again teeth bared like an animal hunting prey. "You will listen to me when I speak to you. You will answer me when I ask you a question. Understand me?"

"Hmm-hmm." I whimpered.

"Answer me!" She screamed at my face. I could smell cigarettes and strong mint on her breath.

"I understand."

"Good."  Standing up, she turned to her back to me, but I knew there was a vile smile planted on her face...

An expectant cough withdrew me from my memory.

"Sure!" I smiled.

They all sat across from me, blondie in the middle of course. They stared at me with sly smiles.

"So," Chloe began. "You're new here?"

"No." I made my face remain expressionless.

"Hmm." She thought this through. "What's your name?"

"Wouldn't you like to know." I stated, bringing a mouthful of the salad to my mouth.

"In fact, I would. Have I spoken to you before?" Elbows placed on the white table her long nails tapped irritatingly.

"You look familiar." At least someone around here was able to look through the make-up and see me!

"I'm sure I do look familiar."

"Why do you do that?"

"Why do I do what?" I feigned innocence.

"Why do you talk in riddles. Aren't riddles supposed to be Shakesarrowian or whatever?"

I laughed to myself at this. "Firstly, it's Shakespeare, secondly...No. Just no."

Chloe scowled, and this had a mirror affect to the two bimbos sat either side of her.

I packed up my food and stood up. I turned to leave them, but turned back and leaned on the table so I was level with their faces.

"And the names Adriana Silva, whores." I growled to them.

I watched in amusement as the colour drained from their faces and shock left their gobs wide open.

Smirking to myself, I sprung out of the dinner hall.

Rhys's POV

"Dude!" Keiran's shouted from behind me as I sauntered to my locker.

" 'Sup?" I asked turning around to see him dodging past a load of people in a rush to get to me causing curse words to be thrown. "Couldn't you have just walked up to me like any other normal person would have done - oh, wait. Your not normal." I joked.

"Were you in the dinner hall?" He asked, still recovering his breath.

"Nope." I continued walking.

"Well, you should have been. The Umpas were there an-" Umpas were a nickname me and half of the basketball team came up for. I swear, they just dump the spray tan lotion on them like a garbage disposal.

"Wow!" I say in mock intrest.

"And they sat with the new girl wh-"

"Wait," I interupted again. "There's a new girl?"

"Why don't you know this?!"

"Well, It's becaus-" I was silenced.

"Zip it and let me finish!" He exasperated. "So basically, guess who the new girl is."

"I have no idea. Who's the new girl?"

"Adriana Silva."

At that moment, I bumped into someone knocking them down. Shit.

Double shit. Did Kieran just say Adriana was back.

In zombie-like movements, I helped the petite girl off the floor mumbling my apologies.

"Rhys!" The girl spoke. "What a pleasant surprise." She smiled.
