9. Christmas Eve

People are laughing and hugging,

The sound of a hammer hanging up stockings on the fireplace,

Children are being sent to bed with a promise of Santa Claus,

The mince pie and carrot sits upon the table.

 

The wind rustles through the branches,

The snow silently tumbles from a midnight sky.

Every child sleeping,dreaming,of the day to come.

What's that I hear?

 

Is it sleigh bells from up above?

One by one the towns lights go out.

The air smells of pine and magic is in the air,

The magic of Christmas Eve.
