Life Lessons

This is a Movella filled with life lessons. It's not a story, or full of poems. It is simply full of what I've learnt from life, and what others have learnt.

20. Learn to Accept Compliments

Most people, myself included, need to learn how to take a compliment. It's lovely when people think about you in such a way and feel like they need to let you know that they're impressed or happy with you, but it is embarassing when people shower you with compliments. Especially if you're shy. You don't know what to do with yourself.

Be courteous. Say thank you. And the more compliments you get, the easier it becomes. Just don't get too full of yourself, otherwise people will stop saying things because they know that you know that you're good at something or attractive.

Don't deny it either, because people will soon stop saying nice things to you if you always deny what they say to be true. If someone calls you pretty, or beautiful, don't say you're ugly. It will really annoy whoever told you that you're pretty. And the more often you deny it, the less likely it is for people to start complimenting you.

However, you must stay on your toes slightly. Don't believe everything that someone says to you as it may not be the truth. They could be leading you on, or trying to get in your good books. Prime examples of offenders like this are people you don't like, people who don't like you, and people who seem too nice to be true. But still say thank you. Just take it with a pinch of salt.
