Life Lessons

This is a Movella filled with life lessons. It's not a story, or full of poems. It is simply full of what I've learnt from life, and what others have learnt.

21. Don't Let Someone Get in the Way of Your Dreams

If you are an ambitious person, like I'm turning out to be, then you shouldn't let anyone get in the way of your dreams. Especially people who aren't going to play a large part in your future. Don't let anyone talk you out of what you want to do. If you want to do it, then bloody do it!

I'm always told, you're a smart girl with a good head on your shoulders. If you put your mind to it, you can do whatever you want, go wherever you want and be the person you want to be.

I find sometimes that if someone isn't as ambitious as you, they will tend to try and put your dreams down, saying how they will fail or what might go wrong. It's just because they're jealous as they don't have any real dreams of their own.

A few times, one of my so-called 'best friends' has put down my dreams to study in America. She was forever saying how I wouldn't be able to come back if I studied law. And she made out that I was being selfish for wanting to follow my dreams.

Then again, other people will support you no matter what. Even the most unexpected people will support you. Take the guy I was seeing until recently, whom I shall call Wes for arguement's sake. Wes and I didn't really know all that much about each other in the beginning, but when we finally saw each other, we opened up. We talked about future plans, and Wes doesn't seem to be as ambitious as I am. He is planning on staying here in our home town or going to London. I mean, he does have big plans, but he's not entirely sure what he wants to do with himself at the present time, whereas I do. But he'd like to see South America. I, on the other hand, want to travel every inch of this globe until there is no stone left unturned. I want to live in America, or China, or somewhere that I can make a difference. I want to help people. And Wes, bless his heart, told me that he believed in me. Wes told me that I would do all of these things, and that I would travel, and that I would do well for myself. He seemed to have more faith in me than I did, which was a lovely thing to witness.

When you get encouragement like that, it really motivates you to do well, and to become successful with your plans.

No one should ever talk you out of something you want to do, because it may have a huge impact on the rest of your life.
