Guide to common birds in Greater London

I'm sorry that the area is so specific but I only really know about birds that me or someone else in my family have seen.
I doubt anyone will bother to read this but..... If you do and you know of another bird that I could add then please comment and tell me.

3. Coal Tit (Parus ater)

Description: The coal tit has slate grey wings and back with a pale breast. It's head is a striking black with white cheeks and a white patch at the back of its neck.

Juveniles have much more green/brown in their plumage. The back is a dark green or brown as is are the tail and wings. The distinctive black head is slightly softer in colour, more of a green-blue colourand the breast is a dirty yellow. 

Habitat: Coal tits are common in Parks, gardens, and woodland - especially Conifer woods throughout the UK. They are residents so can be seen all year round.

Status:LC (Least Concerned)
