How could your best friend in the whole wide world, also be the love of your life? How could they be the person that makes your heart stop beating for a second every time they look into your eyes?

"All our young lives we search for someone to love, someone who makes us complete. We choose partners and change partners. We dance to a song of heartbreak and hope, all the while wondering if somewhere and somehow there is someone searching for us." -The Wonder Years

2. Josh

"To be depressed is to be lonely, to have a friend is to be happy.." - Guido

The voice sent little shivers down my spine. As i shyly looked to my left, there was a boy grinning at me.

"I'm Josh. You?" I looked into his friendly, blue eyes and felt lost in them. He had short, blonde hair that flicked upwards at the front. He had a small dimple just below his lower lip, which was adorable when he smiled.

"Maci" I smiled at him. Maybe i could hang with him if i don't make any friends.

"That's a pretty name. So, what made you come to this hell hole?" he chuckled a bit but kept on staring at me with them eyes. I was never shy when i met new people, but i felt myself blush. Mrs Chalk told everyone to simmer down, but Josh kept talking to me.

"Lot's of reasons, wouldn't want to bore you." The more he spoke to me, the more i was loosening up.

"Out of all the schools you chose this Croftlong High?"

I pursed my lips together and nodded and he raised his eyebrows. Before he could ask me anything more, Mrs Chalk interrupted us and said the usual teacher phrases. Things like 'How rude to talk while someone else is talking' and 'What gives you the right to talk?' I peered at Josh, and he caught me looking in the corner of the eye and winked.   I knew from then, that i had made a friend.

"You hit your P.E teacher with a javelin?!" Josh laughed, whilst stuffing his face with a chip.

"Yup, it was an accident" I said defensively trying not to laugh too.

After Biology had ended Josh had took me to my next lesson, which thankfully he was in too. After that lesson he took me to my next, which was torture as Josh wasn't with me. I had no one to sit with, no one to speak to. It sucks being the new girl. After that lesson Josh said he would meet me for lunch, which i was over the moon with.

I was so grateful that he wasn't leaving me to look like a loner all lunch. Besides, he wasn't the worst person to hang out with. I loved his laugh. He was funny. He made everything seem normal and okay. As we sat in the canteen, laughing, i couldn't help but notice a bunch of snotty looking girls were staring at us from across the room. I tried to ignore them, but there beady eyes were intense. When i looked over again, i noticed that they weren't sat at the table they had been and i began to relax more. Until they were stood at the end of mine and Josh's table.
