The girl who stalked the corridors

All Alice wanted to do was work as a psychiatrist in a mental hospital, not end up in one as a patient. But as she gets more familiar with the daily routine she comes across the girl in the corridor and her most deadly horrors come to life but her insanity may not be the case, maybe she is sane after all..

22. Death

"GET HERE YOU LOUSY PIECE OF DIRT" a massive crash. "I'M WARNING YOU, GET HERE NOW." glass smashing. "AHHHHHHHH" a high pitched scream. "I TOLD YOU I SAID I-I-" the sound of an object hitting something else repeatedly  but I couldn't quite place what it was. "I'VE-I'VE, I CAN-N-N'T COPE ANYMORE I C-A-ANT."  A loud thud. Silence. Wheezing and then sobbing. Continuous sobbing and desperate cries. I looked over to Nicholas. His face was as white as a sheet. I thought this might have something to do with The girl but I knew it wasn't. "Get out, GET OUT NOW!!" he screamed. I ran down the stairs. Instead of turning right to go the back door I accidentally turned left and I saw a horrendous sight. It was like being in the hospital again.

It was bloody. Billy lay on the floor. A pool of crimson blood around his battered head. A rolling pin laying next to him. Prudence lying on the floor crying desperately and muttering to herself. Murder. Prudence had murdered her husband. While I was here. I couldn't move. I was frozen staring at the scene in front of me. Nicholas came thundering down the stairs. "I TOLD YOU TO GET OUT!! COME ON MOVE" and I couldn't. I honestly couldn't get my brain to connect to my body to get me to move so in the end Nicholas had to physically move me himself. I was screaming. I couldn't help myself. After all I had been through I was actually scared. "NICHOLAS, NICHOLAS NO PLEASE NO!" he locked me out in the garden. Like a dog. I started crying and just sat in the mud wondering when my life would ever be normal.
