Coo Coo Clock

I saw her. I saw it. There was some sort of resemblence.

1. Home Alone

It was Friday, no, Saturday evening, and my parents had gone out for the night. They had gone on a little break to go for dinner and left me and my Brother, Euan, home alone. Euan was only three and he didn't like me much, he couldn't stay still at all. He was wriggling when I picked him up, and he screamed and cried when I cuddled him, even when I fed him he spat his food back up all over me! I was getting nowhere with baby-sitting, which should be right because I didn't want to do it anyway! Euan started to quieten down around ten, and I was wondering why my parents weren't home. They should've been home at least an hour two ago, they wouldn't want me to stay by myself with a three year old.

"  When is Mummy home?" Euan asked just as his eyes had begun to droop wearily.

" Sssh, just go to sleep, Euan, they'll be home soon," I whispered, my eyes feeling unusually heavy too.

I put Euan into his bed, tucking him tight under his ' superman' covers and pulling an extra blanket up over his shivering body. I smiled, proud that I had got my shieking brother all tucked up, and closed his bedroom door, turning off the light and slipping out of the room.

Later on, I was feeling tired as ever, and I thought of just creeping upstairs, quietly, and crawling into bed. So, I tip- toed past Euan's bedroom at the top of the stairs and padded softly through the hall and into my room. My light switch clicked heavily as I turned it on and bright light flooded the room. My bed had never looked so appealing to me until I reached the edge of it, climbed in and pulled the covers high to my chin, then Iit felt appealing too. My eyes were watering a smidge, so I wiped them with the back of my hand and closed them tightly. I had to get out of bed to switch off my light again, but afterwards, I was happily to lie in the dark and the cool night air that was coming in through the window. Everything seemed to be getting darker and darker... darker and darker... but then I just realised it was me. My eyes were closing, fast. I was more tired than I had thought. Everything closed and closed until it was all dark. My eyes were shut, and I was sleeping.

Euan was crying.

I looked at the clock beside my bed, it read: 4:00am. I sighed heavily, and flung the covers off of the bed, clambering out and onto the cold floor. I yelled at him to be quiet, but he continued to cry as I opened his door.

I screamed at seeing a person standing in the corner of his room in the darkness. Euan continued crying. There was a little girl there, I froze to the spot, seeing she had no face and I recoiled in horror.

Everything went silent as I heard a little tick.

Tick, tick, tick. Tock, tock, tock. Tick, tock, tick, tock.....

There was something in the room that hadn't been there before, I couldn't locate where it was, but I heard it. It sounded like a coo coo clock.
