The Underwater Fairground

Angel looks like, talks like, walks like and is like a human. Wrong. Mermaid. Mer. Maid. Simples. They don't have tails, they don't go around singing and they most definitely don't have pet fish with cutesy pie names. The only difference between her and us is the fact that she can stay underwater for days at a time. She's cheeky, mischievious and likes to cause a little havoc...

5. Chapter 3

Since I left that boy at the notice board, he's the only thing I can think about. The worst thing is I don't even know his name. All I know is he got me out of trouble without even knowing me, seems to have the same feelings about the cut off and he makes my heart beat like a drum. Beside me, the dickhead seeths, his hand an iron grip on my wrist. He drags me to the shoreline before he turns and stares at me, "Where the fuck were you last night?" He spits, "I was dancing, in my flat, to The Ready Set" I reply, holding back the fit of giggles that bubbled in my stomach, "You were meant to be meeting Carter" He growls. "Well may I start by saying that you are not my dad. My dad agreed with me that Carter is a fishfuck. Secondly, why should I? It's my life" "How dare you disrespect me" his hand comes out of nowhere and catches my cheek, throwing me further away from the water, "Solomon" A guy appears out of the waves and walks to me, pulling me up and standing in front of me, "Did you just hit this child?" "She disrespected my wishes Sir" Solomon's voice has fear engraved into its core, "How so?" My protector did not waver, "She...." Solomon loses his use for words and just stands there, "Angel, may you fill me in?" My protector turns amd smiles gently at me, "Since the death of my parents, he has acted like he is my father" I start, "Now he is trying to force me into a relationship and ignores the fact that I am happy with being single. He is technically breaking my right to freedom. Not only did he just forcefully remove me from a conversation, he also physically attacked me, as you just witnessed. If I am to be so bold, doesn't that warrant a civil dicussion at the high court? His job was to in fact, keep an eye on me and protect me, not interfere with my personal life and abuse my rights...Sir" I curtsey slightly, "Angel, you may return to your flat or go wherever you may want to go" he smiles and steps away, "How many times have I begged you to call me George?" "Thank-you...George" I blush, digging the toe of my trainer into the sand, "Off you go child" He waves me off as I turn, pick up my board and jog up the beach to the flat. I crash onto my bed, the mystery boy's voice cascading around my head like a mantra, my heart beating faster just thinking about those eyes. George is going to kill me. I think I may have fell a teensy tiny bit in love. Great. I can tell you know that this is going to be a whole new kettle of fish. Sure, I've had one or two boyfriends, but I've never felt like this. When he took my hand, it felt like I'd just got shocked by a jellyfish - there were....sparks. A wave breaks on the shoreline, bringing me out of my confusion momentarily, urging me to go tell the sea my secrets. It's tepmting actually, just to lie in the shallows of a cove I have discovered. There's all sorts there: beautiful fish that fly in and out out their coral homes; sharks that swim lazily around you (mind you, they can't be more than a metre and a half); bobbing jellyfish that seemingly bounce past your face and the sand is like silk beneath your body as the tide rocks you softly. Really tempting. Maybe it'll take my mind off it...just maybe. Hopefully? I slide off my bed and get changed into a bikini and shorts then start the short walk to the little place I call mine. << This is so cute!!
