I was tired of being the geek, the loner, the fat one. I wanted more than one friend. I wanted to be popular, pretty, sexy. So I got a makeover..


6. The Rest of the Holidays

The rest of the holidays went by like a blur. I would wake up every morning and go for a run, then come back and have a healthy breakfast, I knew starving myself would get me no where apart from the anorexia ward at the hospital. Then I would maybe go and see Alex, or do 'research' about being popular.
Not long after my makeover I had had an idea abut how to get advice about popular people. I had posed as a student in behaviour studies, and I had gone to see Professor Marcosman. He had told me the key qualities of people like the populars, like the way they always believed in themselves, the way they would always be up to date on culture, and the way they were often happy. also told me they were not afraid to speak their mind, and at times could be bitchy and mean. I hated being mean to people, but it was worth it to become popular. He gave me one of his books as a present, and he wished me luck in my exams. Little did he know...
Everyday I would read that book, with it's blue cover with the silver border around the title, until it became tatty and dog-eared. It symbolised my crusade to becoming popular.
Soon enough it was was night before the first day of school. I had my outfit ready, and I washed my hair and gave my self a DIY mani and pedi.
Tomorrow it would be time to make my debút...
