Don't change

I was tired of being the geek, the loner, the fat one. I wanted more than one friend. I wanted to be popular, pretty, sexy. So I got a makeover..

2. New me

A few hours later I stared at myself again in my mirror. I was pleased with the results, for once in my life I looked nice. For the first time ever I looked in the mirror and smiled, I could feel my confidence already rising a little bit. My hair had been given a straightening perm, then cut in layers with a wispy side fringe. After that the lady had added some lighter brown highlights to lighten up my face. She gave me instructions on how to dry it straight, and how to use mouse for volume. Then at the beauticians I had my wild brows threaded and a light spray tan, adding a slight golden glow to my pale skin. It didnt look like I'd been to Spain for a fortnight, but it was loads better than the ghost-girl look. On the way back I had gone shopping to buy new (cool) clothes, and swap my glasses for contacts at the opticians, finally getting rid of the big, geeky frames I hated. I looked different, but in a good way. I looked beautiful.
