Don't change

I was tired of being the geek, the loner, the fat one. I wanted more than one friend. I wanted to be popular, pretty, sexy. So I got a makeover..

25. Mine at last (sadly not Maya)

Saturday dragged by for me, but there was one thing that helped.

On Friday, after Maya had said yes to Dan, for the rest of the lessons in the day I went to music block. Mr SIdona was there, and he let me go to the practise rooms and play on the school guitars. He saw how stressed I was, when I told him about that it was girl trouble. He seemed pretty sympathetic at this, and told me how his girlfriend had recently left him for an Australian male model. We're actually related, me and him - second cousins once removed or something - and we get on well.

At the end of the day, after his lessons had finished, Eron (Mr Sidona's first name), told me something; he had to get rid of some instruments, to make way for a computer desk. I was shocked at this, but even more shocked when he told me I could have a guitar! "Well," he said smiling, "we do need to get rid of some, and guitars take up the most room!"
I could barely contain my excitement as I looked through the guitars, trying to decide. I felt like a kid in a sweet shop, surrounded by lovely things, but I could only have one. In the end, I went for the guitar I normally play on at school, a deep, rich brown wood one. I put it in its bag, and went home.
I had missed the after school rush, so the streets were nice and quiet - nobody saw me. Mum wasn't home either, she was at the shop, so I played for a bit. It calmed me down, and I played song after song. I played mostly love songs, thinking of one person.
