2. The Ex

Mondays hate me. They always go very slowly just to annoy me. I was stood outside the gate with my iPod in. Humming to myself, and i saw Scarlet walking toward me, with her beanie on, wind wipped at the spikey red hair that poked out from the hat. I smiled to myself. She flung herself into me, "Damn girl, you only saw me what an hour ago or something?" I joked.

"Might as well have been forever." she breathed, as nonchalantly as possible. But I knew she meant every word. We started walking and talking, her hand in mine. She only lived a mile or so away, within easy walking distance. Then i saw...her. My ex. The single most annoying human being on the planet, Tracey Thompson. I shuddered inside, and a little outside. I pulled my hood down over my eyes, but to no avail. I heard her whiney, nasal like voice. "SETH!" I groaned, and looked at Scarlet, she just gave me a sympathetic look. No help. We'd gone out with eachother for a month, but i left her, cause she was completely insane, and now she's my designated stalker.

"Seth honey! Hey!" Her voice made me want to stab myself in the eye. "How are you?"

"Um hello Tracey, i cant stop to talk, please go away" straight and to the point, well done Seth. I walked briskly past her and her group of wannabe bitches, who were now squealing at something Tracey had just said. About five minutes later i turned to Scarlet, "Thanks for the help" I gave her a very unimpressed face. She just grinned.

"Hey i didnt go out with her, you did," she flicked my forehead, I stuck my tongue out.

"lets just go, you annoying child." She laughed her sweet angelic laugh.

Scarlets house was in one word, Heaven. It was a three bedroom, two story, house. Very open, very bright. We walked in to the smell of spices and herbs. Her mom must be cooking. Mrs. Medley had to be one of the greatest chefs in the country. Whenever i was over she cooked something different, and i always cleared up my plate. Somtimes even some of Scarlets. "Mom?" She called, and within seconds her moms bright and circular face appeared in the kitchen door.

"Hey kids," She beamed at us. "How are we today?" she came and ruffled my hair, and embraced Scarlet. "Hey mom" She smiled.

"Hey Ms. Medley" I said more formally than needed. Ms. Medley waved her hand.

"Cut the 'Ms' crap Seth, you make me sound ancient," she laughed. Scarlet set her bag down, as did I, then took my hand and said "mom we'll be upstairs if you need anything,"

"Okay dear" we went up the stairs just as her mother said "No hanky panky!"

"MOM!" Scarlet said, laughing.
