This is How it Was Meant To Be

This is a story about four girls - Willow, Janice, Tayla and Sofia - whose lives are interconnected, even though they don't realise it. Each of these girls unknowingly help each other out with what they crave for the most! This is a story I wrote to show how everything we do affects the people around us. Please read :)

4. Sofia

I was at the music room at lunch time, having decided to bring my food here so I can practice as well as eat at the same time. I was playing the newest key note I composed on the piano when Janice slipped next to me, looking distressed as she said "Hey."

"Hey Janice! Listen to this note, I finished it yesterday." I played it a few times and she smiled encouragingly. She was always supportive of my passion. And that's music. It's been my passion for ages, and I'm never giving it up. She knows that. She likes to listen to the notes I make, and keeps telling me I'll become a famous musician like Mozart someday. I always laugh when she says that, because I'm not even sure Janice knows who Mozart is. She's more into sports, and all the guy stuff there is. She skateboards to school, she listens to pop rock ALL the time, and I'm quite possibly her only non-guy friend in the world.

"Any luck with the producers?" she asked me.

I sighed. "Nah. Not unless I find the courage to ask Willow's father about it." Willow Jones' father was a successful music producer, and I had been looking for a producer who would take an interest in my work. I longed to ask Willow about it, but the idea itself is stupid. I don't even know that girl. Yes, she's the most popular girl at school with all the guys hogging after her, but I've never talked to her in my life. And people say she's not exactly much of the friendly type either. And I believe them. I've seen her around that poor girl Tayla, and she's been a total jerk to her.

For some reason, Janice stiffened at the mention of Willow's name. "What?" I asked, and she shrugged hopelessly.

"Josh likes Willow," she said simply and my jaw dropped.

Josh Woods, the guy Janice had a HUGE crush on likes Willow? Willow? Seriously?! Oh my God, Janice had liked him for as long as I can remember! And the guy likes Willow? I didn't even know how to react.

"You're joking!" I gasped. "But - oh my God Janice!" I hugged her.

"He told me just now, at the basketball court," she sobbed. This was very unusual of her. She never broke down like this. But she was my best friend and I understood her too well. There is nothing worse than your crush having a thing for Willow Jones.

"This is so wrong, Janice!"

She hung her head. "I wish I could just make him see what a loser Willow is!" she moaned desperately.

And all of sudden, I had an amazing brainstorm. That's it!  "Actually," I grinned. "I think I know how to make him see sense."
