34. Please wake up

Ally’s P.O.V

They took me away from him. They took me away from my Liam. I needed to get back to him, and fast. I saw his hand twitch. He was going to be all right. He was going to wake up. My Liam was going to wake up and I needed to be there for him.

I winced in pain as the nurses cleaned up my wounds. The liquid they used stung, like the spikes on a nettle leaf. I gripped on to the hospital bed I sat on, and dug my nails into the white cotton sheets. I squeezed my eyes shut, hoping the stinging sensation would go away. My body calmed a bit, but still throbbed. I opened one eye and then the other.

I looked around and the nurse was just leaving, and within a matter of seconds, Harry was at my side. I looked up at him with my blurry vision. He comforted me, whilst rubbing circles on my back. It calmed me, but I was too impatient to see Liam. I began to get of the bed when Harry stopped me in my tracks.

“Where do you think you’re going?” he asked, eyebrows raised and hands still on my shoulders. I sighed, knowing there was no way around him. I sat back on my bed and slumped my shoulders.

“I want to see Liam.” I mumbled, barely audible. I blinked and let the tears that had built in my eyes, fall. Harry sat down on the bed next to me and held me tight. I looked down, not wanting to show, the state I was in.

“Ally, he’s not going to go anywhere, and besides you haven’t finished your treatment yet.” He said softly, whilst removing the damp hair that stuck to my cheeks. I looked up to him and pouted.

“We need to go there now. I need to be beside Liam when he wakes up...” I trailed off. “I don’t need any more treating. I’m perfectly fi- ouch” I said, when I hurt myself, gesturing.

“See you’re not fine! Moreover, about Liam, we don’t even know when he’s going to wake up. It might take ages. We’ve been trying so much, but he didn’t budge.” Harry explained. He rubbed my back again making soft circles. I sighed.

“No, Harry. You don’t understand. He moved. He moved when, you were taking me away. I saw him move!” I said really quickly.

“Wait what?” Harry said obviously confused.

“You heard me. I saw him move. He twitched his hand.” I said a little more slowly letting him absorbed the information I was giving him. He didn’t respond. Harry just sat there as still as nothing. This was my chance to escape. I got up, but felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to face Harry.

“You’re not going anywhere until you’re fully treated. The nurse should be here any minute.” He said pulling me back down. I huffed and refused to do as he said. Just then, as if on cue, the nurse walked in.

I looked over to her. She wasn’t the nurse who was treating me earlier. This one was younger. She had the same sort of hair as me and her eyes were big like mine. Apart from the fact her were dark brown. Her smile grew wider when she, laid her eyes on her. I looked toward Harry for an explanation.

Harry’s eyes just locked with her and they kept smiling at each other. Okay, I have and enough of this. I needed to get back to my Liam. He may be here any moment now. I cleared my throat, hoping someone would notice that I was here.

The nurses eyes automatically flickered towards me. She stepped closer and jabbed a thermometer in my mouth, and started checking my blood pressure.

“How’s Liam?” Harry spoke after awhile. For a moment then I thought he was speaking to me, but soon relised he was directing it at the nurse.

He nurse stopped what she was doing, looked up at him and smiled. “He’s been doing much better. His heart beat is normal and there are some signs that his brain is recovering as well as his wound.” She informed us. I smiled at the thought. My Liam was getting better. I just had to go see him now.

The nurse did a few more checkups and then said “Okay, all done. Your very brave and are on the way to recovery.” She smiled at me. I smiled right back at her.

“Thank you.” I said. This was the moment I was waiting for. I quickly got up from my place and ran down the hospital corridor finding Liam’s room, again. Harry was calling after me, hot on my tail.

“Don’t forget to change the bandages regularly!” the nurse called out. I ignored her and continued to run. I glanced at all the numbers on the doors, hoping to find 143 soon. Finally, I stopped at the right door and bust through it.

Niall, Louis and Zayn were already there. They stopped in their tracks and looked towards me. I ignored their stares and slowly walked towards Liam. I kneeled beside him and took his hand in mine, and felt his pulse. It wasn’t as warm as usual, but I was glad to know he wasn’t dead.

I let a few tears escape my eyes and whispered, “Wake up Liam. Please. Wake up, for me. I’m here now, with you. Please wake up.” I took his hand and placed it near my heart. “Wake up Liam.” I sobbed.

Liam’s P.O.V

I was still in the black bottomless pit. There was no escape. It was as if the walls of the well were closing in on me and I would soon be more trapped than I ever was. I needed to get out of here. I needed to save my Ally. I needed to get her away from, that monster.

Suddenly I heard a soft voice, whilst my hand was held in something warm. Sparks shot though my arm and I felt someone’s warm tears fall on my cheeks.

“Wake up Liam. Please. Wake up, for me. I’m here now, with you. Please wake up.” I heard. Wake up, was all I wanted to do. I wanted to see who held my hand and spoke to me with such a soft delicate voice.

Suddenly my hand was throbbing. “Wake up Liam.”  I heard again. That’s when realisation hit me. It wasn’t my hand throbbing, I felt someone’s hear beat. I felt there pulse in my hand. I counted the beats. Who could this be?

“Please wake up Liam. Your Ally is here.” Ally! She was here! She somehow managed to get away from that devil, and make her way back to me. I knew she was safe.

All I wanted now was to see her. I wanted to see those shining emerald green eyes and tht cute smile plastered on her face. I wanted to hear her laugh and hold her in my arms. However, I was still stuck in this black pit. How could I get out?

I continued to feel for the heartbeat, that was pressed against my hand. The steady beat of her heart. Suddenly all memories of her came flooding back.

String with when I first saw her at school. The look on her face when she dropped her timetable right in front of me. Ally’s sweet female voice ringing through the air in the canteen. The way she swishes her long curly brown hair and flutters her long eyelashes. The way her green emerald eyes always catch me in a daze. The way her dainty fingers feel on the back on my neck, when we kiss. The way Ally’s lips move in harmony with mine.

I needed her. I needed to see her.

I fought back the blackness of the pit. I dint belong here. I needed to be with my girlfriend, comforting her. I fought and fought, trying to push the dark away.

Ally’s P.O.V

I sobbed and sobbed, still clutching onto his hand. Praying to the lord above, to make him awake. Tears were running freely down my cheeks and dripped of the end of my nose and chin.

Suddenly I felt Liam’s hand tense. I stopped sulking and looked directly at him. The other boys must have sensed his movement to because they were all around Liam, within a matter of seconds.

“Come on Liam. Wake up. I know you can do it.” I said urging him.

“Come on Li Li, you can do it. Wake up.” Louis said, encouraging him. Niall came down on the other side of Liam, the opposite of me and took his hand.

“Li. I now you can do it. Pull through. We are all here. Wake up.” He whispered. His hand and legs started twitching and his head was moving a little too. I gasped in surprise My Liam was coming back to me.

“Come on mate. Keep trying to wake up.” Harry, said looking hopeful.

“I’ll go call the doctor!” Zayn said rushing out of the room.  He came back with a doctor by his side in minutes. I looked toward the doctor hopeful.

“There not much I can do. He is pulling out of the coma. We will need to do a check up after that process.” The doctor informed, but still stayed in the room, to keep an eye on Liam.

I turned to face the love of my life again. “Come on Liam.”  I whispered underneath my breath. Suddenly his two chocolate brown eyes shot open.

I gasped with relief and a huge smile plastered across my face.

“Liam!” I yelped whilst hugging him tight. Tears of happiness formed in my eyes. “I am so happy you’re awake.” I mumbled in to the crook of his neck.

Liam pulled away, but still kept me close at the same time. He wiped my tears with his thumbs and gave me a warm smile. He then whispered something in my ear “I love you”. I smiled back and said the same thing back.

Suddenly the doctor cleared his throat. I looked up at him. “Right now, that the patient is awake you all need to wait outside, in order for his check up to be done.” He ordered.

My smile faded. I didn’t want to leave Liam. He just woke up. He needed me. I scowled at the doctor and turned to Liam. “I don’t want to leave you.” I whispered to him.

Liam stroked my cheek with the back of his hand. “It’s okay, babe. It’s just a check-up. You will see me very soon. You do want me to get better don’t you?” He said in a soothing tone. I nodded, quickly. “Then wait outside with the boys. I will be right here waiting for you, okay?” I nodded back.

I gave him another hug and looked towards Harry. Harry took my arm and led me out side. I could have never been happier. My Liam was back with me. He was awake and very soon we would be in each other’s arms again.

I sat down on the uncomfortable chairs out in the hallway. I was literally counting every second that went by, hugging my knees tighter towards me.          I lost count when Harry’s phone rang.

“I will be right back.” He informed me and left the hallway.

(20 minutes later)

I was still sat in the hallway for Harry to come back and for Liam’s check up to be over and one with. Neither happened when, until I saw Harry at the corner of my eyes. He looked very different than from when he left.

His face was all red and there were tear marks on his cheek. I stood up and studied him a bit more. Harry was crying, but why? He came back dragging his feet behind him slowly, and paused in front of me looking down at his feet.

“Harry whats wrong?” I asked softly taking his shoulders in the grasp of my hands. “Harry?” I said shaking him. He didn’t answer. I was getting all worried now. What could have possibly happened to make Harry behave like this? Whatever it was, I didn’t like it.

“Harry, what’s wrong? What’s happened?” I panicked, rushing my words out. “HARRY!” I shouted, but he still didn’t answer. I didn’t like seeing anyone like this, never mind Harry. I shook him fiercely one more. Tears were running down my cheeks like waterfalls. Harry sniffled and let out more tears.

“Ally...” He started to say.

“Yes, Harry. Tell me.” I ordered, still panicking.

“Your dad and brother...” he mumbled. Suddenly my heart stopped. What could have happened to them? What was wrong? I needed to know.

“Harry, what happened to them? Are they alright? Tell me!” I shouted, breathing hard. I dug my nails into his shoulders. “TELL ME!” I screamed.

“They had and accident and... and... Ally, they didn’t make it.” He said barely audible. My arms slung down, my mouth opened in shock and my mind went blank. My heart stopped.
