12. Mel & The New Location...

The next morning it was bright and early. The sun had only just began to rise from the hills. A small amount of the sun rays shined into Joey's open window, as he was asleep. Down stairs lying on the comfy sofa was Johnny snoring loudly. Joey's bedroom was still a mess with a few exceptions around the corners of the dusty room. A loud ear piercing sound from the old alarm clock had awoken Johnny. Thinking of what happened last night, he decided to make breakfast for Joey and himself. The smell of bacon grilling with a smoky flavour flowing into the air, Joey's nose started to catch the smell. Sniffing a few times every minute with Joey's blood hound nose. His eyes slowly opened un swelling from yesterdays problems. The sun was now shining brighter than ever through the windows. Meanwhile back at the hospital, Mel could now go home for a few weeks if she wanted to. The nurse was writing some notes down on Mel's medical folder, as she flipped a few pages forward. Slicing and dicing the cooked smoky bacon, Johnny had started on the eggs. Up stairs Joey went into the bathroom to brush his damaged teeth. Every brush on each tooth, pain was sure to kick in. "Ouch" Joey grunted, trying to take the pain like a man.

Johnny received a phone call as he left the breakfast un prepared. Slowly grasping the smooth phone out of his tight pocket, he asked who it is. "This is the hospital speaking, your daughter can come home if she likes to". Hearing the wonderful news Johnny's face was now shocked with happiness. "Hello?" said the nurse on the phone, too busy to talk Johnny left the phone on hold. After Joey finished brushing his painful teeth, he decided it was time for breakfast. Wondering where his dad has got too, he started to slowly walk down the warm stairs. As the rays of the sun began to burn his feet, he yelped as his hand let go of the railing. "That was a close one" he whispered to himself while trying to get down the stairs. The front door had been left open, since Johnny was in a rush to bring home his daughter. Joey started getting suspicious as he walked to close the front door. Trying to prepare the breakfast was difficult for Joey, he had never made anything that needed cooking. Mel let out a cute little grin when she saw her dad approach the door. Once again before he could see her, he had to talk to the nurse...

Showing Johnny the paperwork and Mel's medical folder. He smiled impatiently trying to resist from shouting. "sign here please then you can take Mel" said the nurse with a cheeky smile on her face. Carrying Mel out of the hospital was her lovely father Johnny. "Okay Mel soon we will be home" Johnny said with confidence in his voice. Brushing against Joey's hair at home was warm steam coming from Johnny's red hot coffee. Mel's first thoughts was where do we live until her memory began to become more clearer to her. Trying to comfort a worried Mel, Johnny attempted to tell her good news. However all Mel wanted to know was where is mum. Johnny attempted to try to lie to her as she grasped his arm with her firm hand. Softly squeezing Johnny's arm as she whispered, "no more lies". Johnny felt the urge to tell her everything, as he stopped the car near a toy store. Joey had eaten his breakfast, as he started to nibble on his fathers too. Carly still hadn't returned home, leaving a worrying Mel with her father and brother.

Stepping out of the car with his daughter. Johnny asked her if she was interested in toys. Mel looked at him as she rolled her eyes, attempting to break out of Johnny's grasp. She started getting too suspicious as she pushed Johnny away from her. Johnny didn't understand what was going on with her as her tried to talk to her. Mel ran behind the toy store leaning against a tattered wall. "Mel what's a matter" whispered Johnny as he placed his hand over her. "Lay off me dad!" shouted Mel trying to stay away from him. Johnny finally needed to tell the truth as he whispered Mel's name. "What is it dad?" Mel replied as she came closer to Johnny. After taking a deep breath, Johnny spoke out words. "We are moving house Mel" as a tear rolled down his face. Mel hated this news, she remembered more as she thought of her friends. "I will have to move school won't I dad?" sighed Mel holding onto Johnny's hand. "Yes Mel you will but your be fine, your make new friends" Johnny whispered as he dried her eyes with his sleeve.

Mel thought strongly about this moving idea. At first she never liked the sound of it, until back at home Joey confronted her with kind words. She began to get more suspicious but she forgot about the whole thing. Trying to trust her brother and her father once again. The next day everyone was up bright and early, Johnny had already packed their bags and suitcases. "Okay kids let's go" shouted Johnny with a happy smile on his face. Joey liked the idea of moving, that way he would be leaving Karl behind with his horrible childhood memories. He thought this through as it would be a fresh start. To show the new Joey, the person who he really is. Remembering that he is leaving Karl behind was a relief until he remembered that Kimi will be gone too. Tears began to leak out of his eyes, he never wanted to leave Kimi alone with Karl. The future can change as he thought to himself, trying to think of how he could meet her again. Johnny saw Joey crying through his above head mirror. Mel comforted Joey, trying to keep him happy again.

The new school was going to be a shock for Mel. She thought that this new school will be better or worst. Trying to remember her friends, she cried as tears flooded in her eyes. "don't cry guys" said Johnny trying to convince them that everything will be okay. Carly was no longer with them, Johnny wanted a new life away from her. Since Johnny knew that Carly cheats on boys, he remembers his childhood when she cheated on her ex for him. Attempting to hold it together, Johnny put on the soothing music on his radio. A small tiny tear dripped from Johnny's left eye, trying to wipe it as he was driving. The school day was tomorrow for Mel, Johnny had hope in this new home. The other kids wanted to go back to their old home. Until Joey realised that maybe he can have a brighter future. "that's the spirit my boy" said Johnny with a smile on his soft face. Mel finally saw sense and wanted to see her new home now...
