2. Part 1 - I've Got One Shot

Dreams…that’s where I have to go

Part 1; I’ve got one shot

“Mollie, are you really sure you want to do this?” Alex asked as we got on the train.

“I’m sure, this is my last shot. Everyone knows I’m not going back for Liam, its because I want a career. I want this more than anything!” I replied sitting down. Today was the day of boot camp, where I could be in the chance of touring with One Direction around the world and being signed for a dance agency. My past hasn’t been the best, I’ve got turned down my so many people because I’m too good at dance and I thought that’s what people wanted. This was my last chance before I finally gave up hope in my whole life. Dance had and always will be my life; I’ve done it since I could walk. When hearing about the boot camp sessions, I signed up straight away not even thinking about my past with One Directions Liam Payne. That’s where I’m heading now to boot camp, my application was successful and I was hoping I could get this opportunity. Coming with me today was my two best friends; Mara and Alex. They know who much it means to me, the past wasn’t bothering me I was more worried about my future and career.

“Its good to see you’re thinking about the future rather than your past. You can’t let Liam stop you.” Mara said.

“Yeah, I just wanna look ahead…I ain’t letting him stop me!” I protested.

When we turned up at the O2 arena where the camp was being held, there was literally hundreds off dancers; both female and male. Along with that there was quite a few thousand fans, screaming there heads off, hoping to get a glimpse of the boys. Some of the dancers looked more like they were fans than to be here for a life time job. The boys weren’t too bad, I didn’t hate them, and it’s just the past that affects the connection I had with them. I joined the back of the queue with the girls and O swiftly got taken away from the girls. Everyone was placed inside the arena itself where we were given a briefing from the boys manger; Paul. The boys themselves were judging us, which made me even more worried. From there we were split in to groups and taught some chorography. Throughout the time we practice, the boys came and watched what we were doing and introduced themselves. That’s when Liam noticed me; I didn’t let him stop me and carried on practicing. As the boys watched us, the blonde haired Irish boy Niall looked me up and down. Our eyes looked and he winked at me before whispering something to the tanned boy Zayn next to him. Time was soon up and we had to make our way to the main stage. We watched the other groups perform, at the end of each performance the boys picked out their 2 favourite female dancers and 2 favourite male dancers. It was down to the last group now, which meant I was up. As we performed I noticed Niall talking to Zayn yet again as he pointed my way. All I could see from Liam was him giving me the evils. We’d just finished performing as the boys came to a decision.

“Alright, you have to be one the best groups so far we must say.” Zayn began.

“So once your name is called please step forward.” Liam added.

“Mollie Allen, Danni Wenlock…” Harry started.

“Tyler Anderson and James Robertson.” Niall added.

“Well done to you all, can all dancers that are through to the next round please get on stage.” Louis announced.

We had now been given an hour to chorography our own dance to any song we wanted. I wanted this so bad that I spent the whole hour solidly dancing and making up moves. Everyone was placed in their own room so we could have our own space to practice. The hour was soon up and we were all called in to the venue to perform our dance. Yet again I was last up.

“Finally can we have Mollie Allen to the stage please?” A runner asked. The runner lead me to the stage where the boys were sat at a desk, just in front of the stage.

“Hi there Mollie!” Niall exclaimed in his Irish accent, giving me a wide smile.

“Hi boys.” I replied.

“Mollie, tell us a bit about yourself and why you’re here today.” Zayn said.

“Well…I’m 19 years old from Wolverhampton. I’ve been dancing ever since the day I could walk and I’m currently in my 3rd year of Dance College in London, where I currently live. In the past I have had a shot and many of competitions, many auditions and many shows, but everyone said I’m too good. Being good was what I thought they wanted, I just find that today could give me another shot and forgot about my past.” I explained. Liam instantly looked at me and shot me the evils, he knew it was about him.

“Show us what you’ve got then.” Louis insisted and I went for it.

“Before we announce our final dancers we’d like to say a big well done to all off you. Every single one of you showed us something different, some amazing, something extraordinary.” Louis said.

“But we have now come to the decision of our 10 final dancers…” Liam began. He looked unimpressed with the final decision, it was so obvious he was not happy with the result.

“Our 5 boys are; Tyler Anderson, Matt Walden, Sam Rush, Mitch White and Tom Clarke.” Harry announced.

“Well done to all of you boys.” Harry congratulated.

“Our 5 girls are; Danni Wenlock, Clara Dorge, Kartina Wilson, Ellie Little and Mollie Allen.” Niall announced. All of us jumped up in the air, they said my name, and I’d got the job.

“Well done girls, well done to all of you.” Zayn congratulated. All of us ran off stage as I jumped in to Alex and Maras arms, it was like a dream come true. As we walked out of the arena, I rang my sister; Mary, brother Charlie and my mum. I was in tears I couldn’t believe my dreams had become reality. By the time the phone call had ended, the arena was pretty much empty. The girls started to walk ahead as I took everything in, this was actually happening. Suddenly I felt my self being pulled back, as I was pulled round by the shoulder to face Liam.

“Why are you here? I know you’ve come back for me, there’s no need to be this desperate.” Liam moaned.

“I’m not back for you Liam, I’m back for the sake of my future. This was my last hope and I didn’t care a thing about the fact you were here. I was so close to giving up and to get this chance means the world, even if you are there.” I replied. He walked off in a strop as carried on walking to the girls. I suddenly felt a hand in my back pocket, it was quickly gone. Everything was still in my pockets, but there was a piece of paper. I unfolded it to see a phone number and some writing

“Call me maybe? – Niall”
