6. golden piano lustre


as he sat at the piano, fingers glancing at keys, choosing those effective enough to play;

she fell to her desk, grabbing the pencil, scrawling the lines furious enough to envy the devil himself,

a melody played out, hand slipped; wrong key.

sketchy lines graced plain paper, hand slipped; wrong line.


she cried herself to sleep that night.
